Money spendin' Diva Extraordinaire

Bonjour Lovelies!

Okay everyone. I need some thoughts on this so I don't feel like I'm crazy.

What do we spend too much/unnecessary money on?

Last night was the premier of Toddlers and Tiaras. Yes I am a sucker for shows like that. Anyway, if anyone watched it last night, there was a family with twin girls who were absolutely adorable (and freakin spoiled rotten) Their parents spend $250,000 A YEAR on their pageants, and their mother prances around in Loubitons and Dior and Prada shoes! So it got me thinking. What do Americans spend too much money on?

I admit I'm guilty of this..as is a lot of people! I spend money on stuff that really doesn't matter, but in the end, makes me happy.

Take this for example. I went into Neiman Marcus one day..just browsing, not really planning on buying anything extravagant, even though a hideous pair of fur lined 500$ jeans caught my eye (Not!) I found these chocolate candy sticks that I used to eat and had to buy them. So I stood in line to buy my candy, while people stood in line buying hundreds of dollars in clothing..yeah that was me!

So anyway, this woman in front of me has a heaping..and I mean heaping pile of clothes in her arms as she is putting them one by one on the desk to be ringed up. But I wasn't focused on the clothes (though I creeped and saw that she spent almost $1300 on her stuff). I was focused on her kid in a stroller. Okay, even further than the kid. I was focused on the damn stroller. I felt like the kid needed a black batman suit to go with this stroller. I was in awe struck at this stroller and saw the name of it on the side 'The Roddler.' Because this woman was taking forever, I had a few minutes to look it up on my phone. Here it is.
It looks like a mix between the bat mobile, a motorcycle, and a Rolls Royce. But boy..this was the Rolls Royce of strollers. I practically fainted when I found the price on my phone. $2,900!!! WHAT!? Lady, you spent that much on a stroller where you're kid was just going to piss and poop and drool and drop food and bang toys on it? I found this ridiculous! I couldn't stop staring at it. I almost wanted to take the kid out and see for myself if it was comfy enough to cost that much. The stroller doesn't even look comfy in the picture. Looks hard as a rock. It probably feels like wood. Or cement. Okay, now I'm just getting angry!

Why do we do this! Like I said, I'm guilty of buying expensive things just because, but why? I understand our children deserve the best, but not $2,900 worth for ONE ITEM that they're in for maybe 2 hours a day if that..especially when that money could go towards buying diapers, food, toys, clothes, or taking baby on trips! But again, this woman just spent a shit-ton on herself, so she must be loaded.

Oh people..I love observing. I cannot help it! I think because I was a journalism major in college, I have a knack for creeping and finding things out and people watching. It's a lot of fun and you definitely learn a lot..even by standing in Neiman Marcus buying candy!

xoxo love all my bloggies!

Totally random wednesday blogger-ing

Now that Christmas is over, and New Years is days away, I feel like I have nothing to look forward to!

Okay..that sounds emo. I have lots to look forward to. My four year anniversary with my boyfriend, dog sledding, birthdays, valentines day, family, etc. But I like having countdowns..I like knowing when I'm going somewhere. Today at work at lunch, I was talking about Vegas with some people and it made me miss it! Is there anywhere in the world that you've been once, and you're immediately in love? Well, that's me and Vegas.
I was only there for 3-4 days and that was not enough! Take me back! I have this problem sometimes. I like to plan vacations that I cannot afford. I look for flights/nice hotels/excursions/restaurants..the whole kit n' kaboodle. Maybe it's me longing for a vacation, or maybe it's just me enjoying being organized and in charge of planning.
Have you ever felt like just dropping everything and going on vacation? I mean drop EVERYTHING. cell phones, facebook, computers, BLOGGER! And just go. I've thought about this and wish I had the courage (and time and $$) to just take an impromptu vacation on the drop of the hat. I think those are the best types. Just be free, and go on your merry way whether it be alone, with friends, or with a significant other.

There's my little drop of Emo for the day.

Now..onto some fun stuff! :) But first can we talk about how GORGEOUS Kristen Bell looks in this outfit! I want it. The hat, the coat, the purse, the boots. So beautiful! I love when celebs aren't wearing absolutely ridiculous clothes just to get on shows like Fashion Police or in the Inquirer! Love this!

I decided I'm tired of all my current underwear. I want to upgrade and update! I have a lot from VS, but I want more..I want current undies that have all the fellas flockin' towards me. Haha okay I'm kidding about that..but I really do want new ones.

What else can I tell you guys. OH. Yesterday I found a bunch of old CD's and was literally crying because I was laughing too hard. I was on my way home from work, so I had an hour long commute home to check out these CD's. Boy..we sure listened to a lot of good stuff back in the day!

Does ANYONE remember this group and this song!? (Dont forget to pause my playlist if you're listening to it!!)

Or remember this girl and this song? I was also SOO envious of her.

Annnd one more song I found on my CD..

Blast from the past! What are some songs you guys used to LOOOVE that are now considered old? Funny though...still know every single lyric to all these songs and more..love it!

Tuesday Snoozeday

I. am. exhausted.

It must be because I had Friday-Monday off from work..so now, back to the grind, and I'm effin tired!I feel like I need to be wound back up.

Have you ever had a class in high school or college where the teacher just drones on and on..AND ON? I think everyone has..even you home-schoolers..you're mom/dad/teacher must have blabbed away.

Okay, but have you ever had a freakin' ROBOT talking and teaching you? I was browsing the internet and found this really weird story that takes place in South Korea. The photo speaks for itself:

I'm seeing a bobble-head toy mixed with one of those strange egg toys I've had in the past. Like really..since when does a robot replace a human in the classroom! This is just plain creepy. And to make it worse, this thing moves it's arms around and dances! It's called EngKey and it teaches English in elementary schools in South Korea. It speaks to students as it moves around the classroom, reads books to them, and sigh..dances and sings to music. What will they think of next. What do you think? Would you like being taught by a machine, or by a human!? Crazy-ness!

Okay. Just had to share that tid-bit of weird info for the day. Now onto bigger things. Bigger like my ass..bigger like my stomach..bigger like my ENTIRE BODY! Okay, so I'm exaggerating, and I know I said I wouldn't worry about eating over the holidays, but I feel like I gained 20 pounds this weekend.

I haven't been to the gym since Thursday and need to get my lil butt there pronto. I read someone's blog about the couch to 5k challenge. I'm definately not "couch" because I work out 4-5 times a week..but I am definately not "5k." I can't run if my life depended on it. I jog, get winded, try jogging again, get more tired, jog again, look like an idiot..etc etc. Does the couch to 5k really work? Will I be able to run? Running seems like such a stress reliever. I want to be able to run for more than 2 minutes without stopping. Help me out here, people!

I need to be doing more of this:
(Hiking Mt Washington!)

 And less of this:

(yes it's salad haha but I meant it as PIGGING OUT!)
I hope you all enjoyed your long weekend (if snow caused you to have a work-snow-day!) And just think..this is a short week! I have Friday off in regards to New Years Eve. Anyone else!?

xoxo!

Christmas+Blizzard = freakin' awesome!

Phew! I haven't blogged in 4 days! I missed all of you :)

Right now, the east coast is being bombarded by the Blizzard of 2010 and I could not be happier! I love snow, I love blizzards. One thing makes me mad though. I took work off today as a personal day, and my office is CLOSED! I could have saved that day for another time! I'll have to see if I can take it a different day.

Anywho. SANTA CAME! And Santa was amazing to me this year. I got so many clothes, and things for my boyfriend/I's apartment, a KINDLE! and...drum roll please..an amazing Canon Digital SLR camera. Holy Cow. This camera..makes my nice digital camera, looks like crap with a capital C. These pictures are gorgeous. I am in utter love. I read a lot of blogs on here where I see people using SLR's and I was so jealous! Now, I have my own!

I have absolutely NO idea how to use it! My parents bought it for me and also got me an amazing book to go with it. I sure have a lot of reading to do hehe. For the past 2 days, I've been playing around with it, trying different things, and annoying the crap out of people by snapping pics every 5 seconds. Check it.

This last pic was taken by my mom. No lights in the room and no flash..so it isnt good at all haha buuut I just thought it was cool because my other camera couldnt ever take a nice pic like this!

Okay Okay people...don't laugh..haha this is me just fooling around. I haven't touched ANYTHING (meaning no settings/cool feature stuff)..but they already look a million times better than a digi cam and I cannot wait to learn more. Does anyone have any tips!? I need them! I was thinking of taking a photography class too.

I had an amazing Christmas with all my family and friends and I am so greatful! Now, I must go enjoy the blizzard taking place outside my house right now. muah muah!

Cake Disaster!!!

Happy Humpday!

It's Wednesday. Which means Christmas is in 2/3 days! I always get confused as to what people prefer to Christmas as..I like to think it's both December 24 AND December 25! :)

I love Christmas! Here in Boston, we got a "snowstorm" Monday which dumped a whopping ONE INCH on us and people freaked. Granted, the roads were a lil slick..but come on people..earn those Massachusetts license plates! sheesh! According to the news tho, the east coast is supposed to get hit with a big snow storm Christmas Day that's coming from California! I hope so..snow on Christmas just makes it that much more beautiful. As much as we moan and groan over shoveling our cars out, scraping ice, dirty brown snow on the sidewalks, snow is the most amazing thing! So pretty. I love the way Boston looks all snowy..
Gorgeous!

So, I am praying for snow. Doin' a snow dance. Anything and everything! Please let there be some snow on Christmas!

I saw the most amazing calender the other day: each month was a picture of a cake that had something go terribly wrong with it. I absolutely died laughing and to my excitment, when I came home to search for the calender, I found that there is an ENTIRE website dedicated to these cake catastrophes!! It's hilarious. Some have misspellings, weird wording, and some are just plain CREEPY! Take this one. You know how you write down what you want said on the cake, and what other things you want? Well, this bakery got it alll wrong! haha

Or look how creeeeeepy this one is.

Poor poor Janet..

Hahaha "under neath that..."

And this one..WOW is the only word.

The website is www.cakewrecks.blogspot.com and it is absolutely hilarious! I could spend all day looking at these crazy cakes. Hope you enjoy! Ever have a cake disaster??

Dont you just HATE that?

Hello Friends!!

You know what I love? I love when you're waiting in line at a grocery store or a bookstore and the line aisle is full of absolute crap that you can't hold yourself back from buying. You know..the things you want to buy but really have no need to?

Well today at Barnes and Noble I bought this book that is SO funny. It's called "Don't you just hate that?" Its a little book of 738 annoying things. I am dying laughing and I think a guy was freaked out when he saw me laughing in the bookstore. A few favorites:

Don't you just hate...

*Watching a movie with your parents that shows full frontal nudity

*When someone keeps channel surfing past the one thing that interests you

*The white thread your vacuum won't pick up no matter how many times you run over it

*People who point at their wrist while asking for the time

*When you sign the back of your credit card and it looks nothing like your signature

Literally..there are 738 of these things and they are SO true and SO funny! love it! What little things like this annoy you guys?

I have one that I don't think is in the book. I hate when I go to watch a youtube video or a news clip on the internet and there's a freakin' 30 second or minute long ADVERTISEMENT before it! I don't care! I want to see the damn video!

So I am very excited that I get to go see ALL my roommates on New Years Eve! I love New Years Eve...especially getting to kiss your hunny bun at midnight!
I hope you all have a great Tuesday! Christmas=4 days! Yippeee!!!! :)

I'm on the baby food diet

Howdy!

I saw this diet on Yahoo as one of 2010's craziest diets.

The Baby Food Diet

Basically
: Replace your adult-sized meals with little jars of baby puree.

Another terribly low-calorie, low-nutrition approach to weight loss that's sadly catching on. Baby food is for babies. Why? Because it has exactly what those little 20-pound bodies need. It does not have what full-grown 150-pound-plus bodies need. Most of those jars have less than 100 calories, a far cry from the 300-500 calories per meal for an adult. If you like vegetables, brown rice and chicken, just eat portions that are appropriate for your age group and provide the calories, fiber and protein that your body needs, not to mention the flavors, textures and aromas that your brain is craving.

I thought baby food was for...babies...? I'm sure moms taste the food as they're doing the "open wide..vroooom." I'd probably try the food! Just to see what it tastes like. I was in Williams n Sonoma the other day and actually saw a baby food maker! It looked adorable, and maybe when I have a baby, I'll buy it. Though that'd mean extra work cooking/making while carrying around a bundle of joy. Hmmm.

But yes..this diet..craziness. I've tried one diet in my life..the Special K diet..and I just tried it to see if I could lose like a few pounds. Let me just say..at the end of the day, I was starving. Yum yum. I prefer eating whatever the hell I want and then just going to the gym. Simple as that!

I looked through baby pics the other night at my house. Check it.
 My baby sis and I
Ha! Too cute. Thought it would fit well with this post! Well, bloggy buds..have any of you tried this crazy diet!?

yum yum!

Fridays and funny videos!

Bonjour Bloggers!
We all love Fridays..Sunday nights we're like "ugh I cant wait till Friday.." all week we long for that one day to welcome the weekend. But you know what sucks? Weekends are waaay too short. Think about it..we work all week, 40 hours +, and only get like, 48 hours to relax..laaaame! I think a week should be equal working hours and equal relaxing hours. But that's just me! It's Friday though!

I thought I'd kick up your weekend with a few funny videos that I LOVE! Hope you enjoy.

Dont forget to turn my playlist off or pause it!!

This is a local Boston girl who writes for a blog in Boston called BarstoolSports. Funny (and such a true) video! She basically explains how to trick people into thinking you're good looking..love it!

And one other one that melts my heart every time...the most adorable 17 seconds of your life!!

What are your favorite youtube vids? Tell me! I looove watching funny/cute videos!

Fatty foods and fruity cocktails!

Hi lovies!

Lots of fun things to share today! I saw this on NewsWeek today: Top Headlines of 2010. Click it and check it out! Pretty much, it's the most insane news stories of this year. And my personal favorite:

Woman in Sumo Wrestler Suit Assaulted Her Ex-Girlfriend in Gay Pub After She Waved at Man Dressed as a Snickers Bar

Just read it and you will see! lol crazzy stories!

Now it's time to not give an Eff about calorie counting and fat and so on because when you see this recipe, you'll want to DIE! I follow this blog Macaroni and Cheesecake..lots of yummy delicious recipes..but I've never seen anything like this before.

(photo from Macaroni and Cheesecake blog)

That, my friends, is something I like to call a delicious mess. Okay no, it's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip. Holy moly. If anyone's like me, I love to eat raw cookie dough, brownie batter, cake batter, etc. All the while, my bf/friends/parents are saying things like "there's raw egg in there." or "you're gonna get sick." But really, WHO CARES! its delicious and I dont care and yes I've made brownie batter before and didn't actually cook brownies..I just ate the batter

But people..that masterpiece..looks amazing. I have yet to make it (though I plan to tonight I think)..but looking at it..yum yum. Here is the recipe courtesy of Macaroni and Cheesecake!

Ingredients:
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 (8-oz) pkg cream cheese (I used 1/3 less fat cream cheese)
1/2 cup confectioner’s sugar
3/4 cup semisweet mini chocolate chips
vanilla wafers or cookies of your of your choosing!

Directions:
In a small saucepan, place butter & brown sugar over medium heat.
Stir continuously until butter melts & brown sugar dissolves.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
Allow to cool.

Meanwhile, in the bowl of a stand mixer, beat together cream cheese & confectioner's
sugar for 1 minute. Once creamy, slowly mix in the cooled butter mixture & beat for
1 minute or so, until fully incorporated. Stir in chocolate chips.

Pour into serving dish & refrigerate for at least 30 minutes prior to serving. Take
dish out of refrigerator a little bit before serving so it can soften up so that it's dippable.
Serve with vanilla wafers or cookie of your choice.

Can't wait to try it! Bloggy Buddies...let me know if you tried it out :)

I have a yummy drink recipe for you to accompany the dip with. Okay so they don't really Go together but who passes up a delicious cocktail concoction!?

This recipe uses one of my new favs. Pinnacle Cotton Candy vodka..delicious

Fairy Floss-tini
2 oz. Pinnacle Cotton Candy Flavored Vodka
½ oz. Pinnacle Blueberry Flavored Vodka
1 oz. lemonade

Shake with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with an orange or you can add something fun like gummy bears or even some actual cotton candy!

It's Thursday...relax, unwind, enjoy the fact that it's almost the weekend AND a short week next week!

love love xoxo

My mother and father are on Facebook

Yes my parents are on Facebook and yes they have been for about 2 years. But I found that I had to address this and just tell you guys some funny stories.

According to all my friends and everyone else, I have the "cool parents." Sure, they might be cool to you, but to me and my sister, they're our parents! While I had fun taking shots of patron with them on my sister's recent 21st birthday, seeing my mom dance on the table, and watching my dad play Roulette with my sister and her 21 year old friends, still...they're my PARENTS!"

Don't get me wrong..I love them to death! But sometimes, they need to just relaaaax! But I am lucky enough to have such fortunate, sweet, caring parents. And I always feel bad for my poor dad stuck with 3 girls each with different personalities, temperaments, and spending habits!

But back to Facebook. I think I was a junior in college when my mom called me up and asked if I could help her set up Facebook. I hung up on her and screamed bloody murder. Okay just kidding I didn't do that..but I wanted to! I didn't want her seeing me write "i love you bunny boo" to my boyfriend or "omg you were WASTED last night" to my friend. So I obliged, and gave her the low-down on setting it up, thinking she'd hate it after a month. But oh no..almost 3 years later, there she is..still on Facebook.

It'd be okay if she rarely went on, or if she sometimes commented on my status..but she is a top notch, creep with a capital C..CREEP! She "likes" everything that me, my sister, and our friends write. And of course all my friends friend her because they love her. My sister loves country music..so sometimes she'll put a quote on her status that may sound sad/depressing, but it's just a quote she likes! We all do it! So my mom will comment and be like "what's wrong..why are you upset?" Then she'll call me and be like "Why is that her status?" And so on and so on..

She likes my status's about my job. She comments on photos I upload. She write things in her status like 'fa la la la la..decorating!." She writes on my dad's wall. She Facebook chats me everytime she sees me on. And she even likes the same fan pages that my sister and I like..haha UGH!

My sister and I sometimes get so fed up that we joke and say "Mom, I'm going to limit my profile so you can't see anything." orrr "I'm blocking you on Facebook tonight." Then my mom will get pissed and say "Oh yeah? I'm shutting off your cell phones!" And my sister and I just die laughing over the stupidity!

I don't have much to say about my dad. He has a Facebook, and maybe goes on once a month. But allll over his wall are comments from my mom.. "Where are you?" "Why don't you update your status?" or the one that kills me..."Want to go out to dinner tonight?" Like really, mom, you can't go into his office and ask him..you have to do it over facebook? And of course, my friends get a kick out of that and "like" the comment.

So my family..All of us on Facebook together. So cute huh!
Me and the fam after I graduated. That morning, my mom had a sad Facebook status about me growing up, my dad's status was something like "proud of my first born" and my sister's was something like "sitting through a boring graduation." Gotta love it! And yes my sister is the only blonde! Nope..not adopted..just a weirdo!

Are your parents on Facebook? Haha I bet they are!

xoxo Have a great Wednesday!

My top 10 guilty pleasures

Hello there little blog.

I was at the gym last night and I'm doing some ab stuff and I see this girl come and sit on the mat next to me. She's cute, wearing cute workout gear, and is super skinny...skinnier than me and I'm 115! She just looks really tiny, but has a very toned body. So I go on with my abs, and I look over as she starts to do lunges, but before she does so, she takes a swig from her PEPSI bottle. She's drinking a damned pepsi during her workout! I look over at my bottle of water that I scarfed down so fast during cardio, and pondered for a minute. Who ever told this chick that drinking soda during a workout is good for you!? I wanted to grab that bottle and pour it over her stupid head.

Somehow that got me thinking about guilty pleasures..hey, maybe she just can't part herself from soda..she loves the caffeine..no..she NEEDS to caffeine for a good workout. Who knows. And don't ask why this made me think about guilty pleasures because I have no idea! Here are my top.

1) TRASHY. REALITY. TV
Ugh..yea. E!, Style network, MTV, VH1, TLC..everything. If your boyfriend/husband says it looks dumb, I usually love it and have to watch it.

2. Snacking
If I could, I would snack all day long. Most people have a designated guilty pleasure snack like cookies or pizza, but I like all snacks. I'll be cooking dinner while stuffing my hand into a cereal box or licking the spoon here and there.

3. Google Mapping
I've mentioned this issue before. Where I like to googlemap celebrities houses and stores they go to and then drive by them. But for real, googlemapping is so great. Especially street viewing! Seriously..take a few minutes and try it out. I like to googlemap rich areas (Bev Hills, Palm Beach) and street view and look at the mansions that I'm so jealous of! (hope this doesn't scare people away!!) Plus, if you type "weird things found on googlemaps" into yahoo/google, it'll show you strange things found in googlemap cameras. Here's one of a drunk guy passed out that someone found! haha

4. Facebook
One word..addicted. I could spend hours on that site, and sometimes I do!

5. Having my picture taken
I don't know if this is me wanting pics of myself, but if I'm out with friends or boyfriend or family, I'll be like "take a picture of just me!" No explanation there.

6. Lil Wayne.
Okay, I do not feel guilty AT ALL for loving him. Buuut, I feel embarrassed when all my friends tell me I am way too obsessed with him for my own good! But I do have an amazing bf who got me 5th row tickets to his concert last summer! But yeah..I'm always listening to him, love watching his music vids, constantly search for his concert tours, buy his merchandise..Comon..you all like a musician like that right!?

7. Drinking wine
Yum yum yum I drink a glass almost every night. Nothin betta!

8. Everything wedding
I've been in a relationship for 4 years and don't expect to be married yet, though I'd like to be! But I think my bf and I would be happier together if we situated life first! (buying a home, paying off college loans, etc) HOWEVER...that does not mean I'm not curious. Curious isn't the word. In Borders, I sneak to the wedding section and look at their wedding books..love surfing "the knot.com" "wedding wire" and of course, watching Say Yes to the Dress. Just a lil somethin I enjoy and when I do get married, I'll be prepared!

9. Buying things just cause they're cute
Cute pens/pads of paper, mugs, cell phone covers, books..you name it! I just like it!

10. Driving fast in fast cars
When I drive my boyfriends car, can't help but drive fast...pedal to the floor! He has a BMW which is muuuuch faster than my SUV. So when I get to drive it, I love zoooming it! hehe bad, I know, since he can tell when I drive too fast because his gas mileage goes waaay down..woops!

There you have it! What are some of your guilty pleasures!?

Monday Shmonday

Let's see. It's Monday, and I'm about 600$ short in my bank account..that's what Christmas Shopping did to me over the weekend...yikes!

And the worst..I'm not even 100% done..only about 80%!

During college, I was really only working about 20 hours a week. That's what our school allowed it's workers to work just so that we didn't fall behind in classes. So I was making maybe 6.50$ an hour as a tourguide for my school--which by the way, funnest job ever! So Christmas/Birthdays/Anniversaries, I didn't have much of an amazing income to get people amazing gifts, while still spoiling myself with amazing gifts.

But let me tell you..now that I have a big girl job with a big girl salary, I splurged. I went above and beyond buying people gifts! Something about buying someone a gift and watching them open it just makes me so happy! I love buying people things they want! So needless to say, I went nuts. My sister and I got my parents something amazing for Christmas that I wont share yet, but they're going to love it. I just had so much fun swiping my debit card here, pulling out cash there, waving my credit card towards there..I was a shopping machine. But hey, best part is, seeing happy people on Christmas =)

I also bought a play dough ice cream maker! Okay, not for me...Toys for Tots. My work is collecting toys to give to toys for tots so my boyfriend and I went out to buy some toys I could bring in. Literally, I wanted to keep the toy I bought for myself, and buy another one for toys for tots! hah! I know, that sounds horrible of me. But its an ice cream maker thing but instead of using ice cream, you use play dough! Ugh so much fun!

During Christmas, I always get so sappy and think about people who aren't as lucky as I am to be fortunate enough to have a great family and a chuck-filled tree with gifts on Christmas morning. Every morning on the radio I hear things about needy families, toys for tots, soup kitchens, holiday gift giving for poor kids, etc. And each time, I want to go out and donate. The holidays make me want to be charitable, but I know I can only help out so much. It's just really sad for me to think about and wish that I could just ransack Toys R Us and Pottery Barn Kids and buy out the entire store! Blahh..but I'm doing my part little by little and donating to Toys for Tots more than once.
So it's a frigid FIFTY DEGREES here on December 13 in Boston. I like nice weather and all, but come on..it's December. Where the hell is the snow. But tomorrow is supposed to be 13 degrees so I guess going from 50 to 13 is no big deal.

xoxo!

Random-ness and drinky drinks

Behold..the most random post ever!

I love the new pink lamp I bought for my cube at target! Adds a little zing to it..though I'm still not done decorating the cube yet.

Green tea is SO addicting..plus, it's a great metabolism booster and helps loose weight. Check it out!

Last night at the gym, I did something TERRIBLE. I was on the treadmill and a woman came and went on the treadmill next to me. She must have cooked dinner consisting of garlic/spices/peppers/sauces because whatever it was, she smelled like it. And it's not the amazing smell that greets you when you walk into a house that's cooking up somethign delicious. No, this is the smell that's old..she WAS cooking..and now the remnants are stuck on her. I had to switch treadmills because the smell was so horrible. Is that bad of me!? I felt bad but really..I couldn't get in a good workout smelling garlic!

I'm obbsessed with Cocoa Roast Dark Chocolate Almonds..such a great snack to munch on throughout the day, especially at work.

Has anyone been on the website StumbleUpon? Pretty much it works like the title. You sign up and click a bunch of things you're interested in. (Celebrities, nature, boating, movies, sewing, cooking...list goes on forever) and then once you choose what you like, you hit 'stumble' and it'll bring you to a random webpage/article of your liking. It's SOO interesting..you've gotta try!

I need to make a Christmas List stat.

Tonight, my friends are coming over and we are going to cook a delicious dinner and just hang out..With work and other life things, it's hard to all see each other like we could in high school and college so it's nice to be able to do this. We will eat, drink wine, and laugh at stupid things!

I have a really delicious, low calorie martini that I really like! It's called the Watermelon Martini. Feast your eyes.

Ingredients
1 part Vodka
1 ½ parts Watermelon juice
1 Watermelon slice

Preparation
Add vodka and watermelon juice cocktail shaker and shake. Pour in a martini glass. Garnish with watermelon slice.

Yummy yummy and only 125 calories per glass!

That's all folks. Bit of a busy day so I'm makin it short and sweet!

xoxo muah!

I love where I live

I was reading an article last night about the healthiest state..which lead me to reading about the best state to live in, the best town, the fattest state, the ugliest state (just kidding..but I wouldn't be surprised if someone wrote an article about that!)

Yahoo never fails to draw me into interesting articles that either make me want to:

A) go on an outragous diets
B) re-evaluate my love life and friends
C) plan an exotic vacation

But I still continue to read my favorite homepage! It got me thinking though. I LOVE my state- Massachusetts. I love the town I live in. And I think everyone should love their town too. Massachusetts was rated the 2nd healthiest state, Vermont was rated the 1st. Mississippi was rated the most unhealthiest state. Why? Actually, who cares! If you love where you live, then so be it!

So I designate my post to the great state of Massachusetts. Oh, how I love you.

I love the way Boston gives me an excited feeling everytime I go there, even though I live 10 minutes from it.

 Boston Public Gardens

Took this pic on the 4th of July on the Charles River from our boat

The Prudential Center decorated for Christmas...love

I've had New York Pizza...I've had New Jersey pizza...but I really cannot compare it to the ORIGINAL Pizzeria Regina in the North End of Boston. Legit..best pizza ever. Perfect crust, delicious sauce, and endless supplies of oil/hot pepper/Parmesan cheese..plus, a bunch of toppings. Trust me..go there if you're ever in the city! And it must be healthy for you since we are the 2nd healthiest state! haha so eat up my friends

But Boston isn't the only thing that makes MA an amazing state. There's so much history, even if you aren't into history (like me). It's so interesting to learn about, and if you live in a state with a lot of history, why not learn about it?

Gloucester, MA. The Gloucester fisherman! If you've seen or read The Perfect Storm, welcome to where it all went down! Such a beautiful town North of Boston with so much to see. And there's also an eerie feeling knowing what happened!
I cannot forget the iconic Cape Cod. This beautiful sunset was taken in Falmouth last year! My family and I go down there a lot and this was so beautiful. Cape Cod is an amazing place to visit. The towns are quaint, the locals are friendly, and the lobster is to die for. Man, I love the Cape

This cute lil purple house is a picture I took in Martha's Vineyard. Love that island..I go there during the summer with the family for a week and each time it's different and more pretty than ever. Martha's Vineyard is notorious for their Gingerbread-esqu houses and this is one of them. Each are unique, which I absolutely love. Men/husbands..I love you for letting your wife decorate the house so cute and quaint..because most of them, if not all, are VERY girly!

So yeah, Massachusetts..rockin' state. Anyone ever been here? There are so many states I want to travel to..just to see. I come from a city so when I think of states like Minnesota, or Idaho, or Nebraska, I really want to visit them and see what's there. I feel lucky to have come from a city with so much to do, but at the same time, I'd love to experience a different state and experience the idea of "nothingness." Something about that really triggers me. I want to drive through Mississippi and see the vast plains that go on and on. I want to see North and South Dakota just because they're so far from me. I want to visit Nebraska and see the rural-ness.

I have a goal--to travel by car to or through every US state to see how other people live--to see their lifestyles--to experience the food that's probably amazing! I want to road trip it..make it a vacation..not looking back towards the city.
So there! =) Do you love your state? Where do you want to visit?

xoxo
