Ever since I can remember I've been poppin my collar

I'm hear to talk about a trend!

Yesterday I was in the grocery store and saw the most RIDICULOUS thing I have ever seen. I saw a 40 ish year old father holding hands with his 8 ish year old son. Both of them we wearing plaid shorts, Sperry's, and a collared shirt tucked in. BUT. Let me tell you something else that made me die laughing.

Both of them had popped collars.

Hello?? Didn't we outgrow this like, 5 years ago when people finally realized that they could wear a turtleneck and get the same effect? So okay...I must admit, popped collars look 10 shades of adorable on little kids, but I don't feel the same about grown men sporting them!

Let's theme this out a bit with a lil Three Six Mafia, okay?

My lovely gal pal Ashley did a post a little while ago about the SG...aka the Southern Gentleman. Ya know, the guy with the tucked in collared shirt, boat shoes, pants with ugly embroidery, etc. I'm here to tell ya that they do exist up here in the Northern region of the US! Though up here, they PAHPP COLLAHS!! (aka pop collars in non-Boston accent)

Why is this trend still existing! I wish I was lying when I said I haven't seen someone with more than one popped collar because BELIEVE ME...if you went to high school with some of the douche's I did, they were known to pop a couple collars at once! Pimp status!

And this guy? Well, I wish I could say I found this guy up here in Boston, but unfortunately, I found him on Hilton Head, South Carolina.

This pic does no justice. You should have seen his walk..so much swagga...and he kept adjusting his collar like it was his baby!

So my question to you lovely folks, what trend do you absolutely hate that still exists?!

Have you ever been in a girl fight?

I'm catching up on The Real World/Road Rules Challenge and can't get over the amount of cat fights the girls partake in. One of the girls involved in a fight was like "I'm from Houston, WATCH OUT! She don't wanna mess with me. I will fuck her up." Okay, miss thang.

Listening to this song while writing this post just gets me SO AMPED I could punch a bitch. Just kidding, I couldn't hurt a fly! But it did put me in the mood.

I've never been in a girl fight for two reasons.

1) I am too much of a baby to fight someone
2) I avoid confrontation LIKE THE PLAGUE

I've only been in one instance where it could have resulted in a possible girl fight. Freshman year of college I was hanging out with this guy in his room. We were working on a science project that we were assigned to work on together. He was texting a lot while we were working, and he told me it was his girlfriend. I thought nothing of it until all of a sudden he said "uh oh...you'd better leave right now." Suddenly I was scared.

I asked him why I had to leave and he told me his girlfriend was the jealous type, and didn't like that he had a girl in his room and that she was on her way to the campus. I had no idea she only lived like 10 minutes away because as soon as I started to pack up my crap, I heard a knock on the door. He opened it up and his girlfriend BUSTED IN like a bat out of hell and came at me!! He pinned her against the bed and I ran up the stairs to my room like a baby.

My dorm room had my roommate's and I's names on them and I ripped them off in case she scouted the halls looking for me. HA I am such a whimp. I mean, I know I'm scary looking, but how could you want to fight this innocent girl?

Have you ever been in a girl fight? Or an almost girl fight?!

I'll make it my Facebook status

I check Facebook pretty frequently...mainly because when I get a Facebook notification on my cell phone, I  find myself phone to face, creeping through the minifeed.

I'm pretty sure I could forever live in my bed and STILL know what's going on in the world because of Facebook. Due to Facebook status', I'd never have to go outside because I know when it's hot, cold, storming, or snowing. I'd know if someone well known dies, because it's everyones Facebook status'. And I'd know if a big event or natural disaster occurs because people are linking to news articles and coming up with clever sayings to put as their status.

Does anyone agree with me or am I just manic!?

In doing my usual Facebook creeping this morning, I came across a few status' that were just TOO good to not be shared with you guys again.

Is it August 24th yet so I've lost enough weight to join the army and
sign my life away yet? Nobody will miss me right? Nobody would care if i go
poof right? One of these days, I'm just going to be gone.
I hardcore stalk this girl on Facebook because I just can't stand her. Kurt knows when
I am reading through a status of hers. Kurt could be dancing naked in front of me wearing a
fedora and I could care less because all I focus on is this girls status,
and the 50 comments people leave.

Mrs.____ from middle school was such a fucking whore
Like, REALLY? The ___ was the name of an 8th grade teacher from our
middle school. NO WORDS. What if she has a Facebook and sees this! Still, I laughed.

dinna with kay, bed, work in da AM den pickin up ky for da night
Can't you speak like the educated person I know you are? (Went to college with DIS KID.)

5.5 months pregnant and I've only gained 1 pound! SUCK IT you fat preggos
Again, NO WORDS! hahah

I don't think I could get rid of my Facebook just yet. I enjoy talking to people through it, catching up with friends from college, and laughing over all the status' I see! Facebook, you truly never cease to amaze me!

I'll leave you with this photo of my family and I on Facebook.

What's wrong with this photo?

Oh nothing...just the fact that on Facebook, we are ALL TAGGED in this pic! Haha Yes. Mama and Daddy Jordan have Facebooks too.

Oh and Abu Dobaeydoodoo, I don't want to be friends with you!! ;-)

Look at me, I'm 23!

When you turn 16, you can finally get your license and act like you know every single rule of the road. We won't discuss how I had to parallel park 3 times during my drivers test. But hey I passed!

Though this was last summer and not when I was 16, this situation is real.
My car overheated in 5 PM Boston rush hour traffic while it was 99 million degrees and I cried because cars were getting so mad and I thought my car was gonna blow up.

When you turn 18, you can buy scratch tickets, ciggies and porn.

When you turn 21, well you can get absolutely shit-tanked, get into bars/clubs, and get away with being hungover.

saltines and gingerale were a friend of mine here, taken at 4 AM one drunken night

But yesterday I turned 23 and it got me thinking. What's the next big age to look forward to?! There's 25, where I can legally rent a car without paying an outrageous extra fee. And then there's 30..which for some reason people fear! But no matter what age I turn, I will ALWAYS love birthdays.

For my birthday I didn't want to do anything too fancy. It was also a Sunday. The freaks, aka me, come out on Friday and Saturday nights.

I mean, though I was offered a 100% VIP hotel suite in New York City with champagne, lil wayne, open bar, and hot men dripping sex, I turned it down to spend the time with my family, friends and Kurt for the day on our boat. I'll celebrate with a trip to bars and clubs this weekend and next when my friends decide to destroy my liver.

So we cruised into Boston, sipped some cocktails, went out to dinner, and loved life!

I really really love these g-frands of mine. Did I mention we went to pre-school together and have been friends ever since? 20 years later, we are still kickin' it.

It was SUCH a great day. I am so blessed to have such awesome family and friends to celebrate my birthday with!

Okay, 23 years old, don't disappoint me!!

What would you do in this sitiatuion?

Have you ever seen the show, What Would You Do? on ABC? Basically, it's a hidden camera show where they put ordinary people on the spot by having actors act out situations of racism, bullying, verbal abuse, etc  in front of customers and patrons to see if anyone steps in and says something.

For example, I saw an episode where a deaf teenager went to apply for a job at a restaurant. The manager told her he would never hire a deaf person so she shouldn't bother applying, etc etc. Both were actors, but the point was to see if the ordinary people intervened and stood up for the girl.

It's a very powerful show! And surprising to see that not many people intervene. Some walk out, some agree with the actors, but then there are those who DO intervene. I'm envious of those people, because I really don't know if I could say something even though I'd 100% want to.

I had a moment like this yesterday at the gym. Our gym has two sections of machines that are used for full body training, meaning you go from one machine to the next and do one set on each machine. Well, sometimes people get cranky if they see someone doing more than one set on a machine, so they'll HOVER over them until they get off.

So Yesterday I saw a bitchy woman walk up to a machine that a teenage boy was on. He was doing more than one set, but the gym was EMPTY. It looked like she was ready to rip him a new one, so what did I do? I paused my iPod and kept my headphones in so I could creep.

 (I'm creepin)

Bitchy woman- excuse me, you cant do more than one set on these, Do you see me waiting
Teenager- okay I just have a few more reps
Bitchy woman- yes but clearly I am waiting..you need to get off right now
Teenager continues to do his reps
Bitchy woman- GET OFF THE MACHINE
Teenagers friend comes and gets him

I literally just glared at the woman and wanted to say something to her along the lines of this:

Excuse me BITCH, if you got the stick out of your ass and turned around, you'd
see that another exact same machine is empty. We all pay the same membership
so we should all get to do as we please. Bitch Face.

But I didn't! I didn't say a word, and instead I just gave her bitchy looks. I know this doesn't sound like a  very serious situation, but I felt bad for the kid and wish I would have stuck up for him. It kills me now knowing I just let her yell at him in front of everyone.

Have you guys ever stepped in and said something in a situation you overheard?

Florida Shenanigans

Phew! It's been a whirlwind of a week, but I just wanted to thank ALL of you for being so supportive of everything that's been going on! I truly am thankful!

Oh..and a special shout-out to Shalyn and Sabrina who I cried laughing over these past few days as they texted me awesome videos and pics of themselves being awesome. It really cheered me up!

Just a lil catch-up with you guys! I went to Florida last week with Kurt's family and let me just say, I want to move there. Minus the 100 degree, hair frizzing, sticky skin feeling, sunburns.

We hit up universal, harry potter world, islands of adventure, and busch gardens! Oh and Harry Potter World? Holy amazing! I bought chocolate frogs, every flavored jelly beans, and a $100 Hogwarts Robe. Kidding about the robe!

I expressed my deepest love, desire, and need for this Minnie Mouse apron. Granted it was $30, I still wanted (no, I NEEDED it) But I am a cheap asshole and didn't buy it for myself. And my constant "oh I love this!" or "I can just imagine myself baking in this like a little housewife" didn't budge Kurt..hmmph.

We took a day off from the parks and hit up the pool. Which had like, 5 poolside bars, which of course meant I had to get a drink. So there I was with Kurt's fam, gettin a bit tipsy. Nothing they haven't seen before as they know I am a whimp when it comes to drinking! I need help!

When I drink I like to do split leaps and leg kicks. I have no idea why BUT...get a few drinks in me and you'll see it for sure!

Kurt laughed at me because I couldn't get on the hammocks that surrounded the pool. He had some trouble himself, after drinking two 30 ounce razzle dazzles.

Oh hot damn, check out that sexy man thigh. GROWWWLL!

I have a bunch more Florida pics that I don't want to flood y'all with! And Kurt apologizes for not being in many photos. (actually I apologize for him) He is cranky when it comes to my picture taking habit ;-)

That's all I have for you guys today. WAIT. How can I forget my main squeeze Weezy? Three words. EFFING AMAZING CONCERT.

See that shirt? I saw weezy wearing it at the Grammy's a few years ago and had to have it the next day, so I did! #weezy-please-notice-im-a-true-fan

Love you guys!

Sometimes life is hard....(and a confession)

It's been a tough few days....

When my parents picked up Kurt and I from the airport on Saturday afternoon, my dad got out of the car and came running to me and said my grandfather passed away. I looked up at him stunned and then over to my mom, who was coming out of the car crying. It was her father...and she had just been getting used to the death of her mother (my grandmother) who died 4 months ago.

It was sudden. He was not sick. He fell in the middle of the night and was taken to the hospital where they said he had a hurt hip. He was supposed to be released the next day or 2, but something went wrong with his kidneys overnight and there was nothing anyone could do. He was 90 and sharp as a tack, and had the best sense of humor.  None of us were expecting it and to be honest, it still has not even hit me yet that he is gone. It's not fair. We weren't ready for this.

my grandfather and sis were trying to ring my arm with his cane!
And don't you love his shades? He had had a small eye surgery a couple days before this.

The only thing keeping me positive is the fact that the day he died was also his wife's birthday. I'm just trying to think that maybe my grandmother didn't want to spend her birthday alone in heaven.

******

I don't usually like to be so down on my blog, but I think it's helpful to share how you feel...happy or sad...and the amount of support I get from all of you is just SO amazing. I truly love you all! I'll leave you with something a little more upbeat. I didn't confess with Rissy last week because I had a group of AMAZING guest posters. I love all of you ladies!

I confess...I have jury duty tomorrow and am both nervous/excited that I will be put on this
crazy murder case like Whitey Bulger or something (yeah right) But my luck I'll be
put on a case about some lady who stole her boyfriend's couch

I confess...I promise to show and share my trip to Florida with you guys

I confess...I went to the Lil Wayne concert last night and got a contact high
from all the pot being smoked around us. I had the munchies when I got home.

I confess...I'm getting too used to being unemployed. I need to
get back on the jobsearch bandwagon.

What do you have to confess? Link up with my good pal Rissy and let everyone know! :-)
