Just another Thirsty Thursday

It's Thursday!

I've been trying to add a playlist thing to my blog..I successfully made one, but when I try inserting it, it puts it in an actual blog post spot and not at the bottom of the page..professional bloggers---please help a girl out here!

Alright so I came across this article in the newspaper. CLICK HERE TO READ IT. Basically, Southwest Airlines is offering wicked cheap flight tickets with a few exceptions. So my boyfriend and I were talking about it and he was randomally like "let's go somewhere for a weekend! Vegas..Disney..anywhere!" Of course I was like, hell yeah! (this deal ends TONIGHT by the way!) So I'm browsing flights/hotels and was not even thinking about the main concern--my biggest fear in the world is flying! I was so overwhelmed and excited to be going somewhere fun for a long weekend and then I remembered that this involved flying. I am in no way, shape, or form a flyer. I've flown different places (utah, las vegas, florida, etc) and I get through it barely.

This is my flying process:
  • Whenever I or my family books a vacation involving flying, even if it's months away, I start worrying about it that day and every day up until the flight.
  • Every night before bed before the flight, I just pray and pray we will get there safely
  • On the day of the flight, I talk to NO ONE..I can barely even think myself! (haha this is ridiculous I know)
  • I've usually done early morning flights so we skip breakfast at home and get it at the airport..I maybe NIBBLE at a bagel or slowly sip juice..I just can't eat!
  • Then, we head to our terminal and my eyes are everywhere! I notice everyone's movements, what they have with them, and even second guess a baby that's wearing a large sweatshirt! (I just get so nervous after 9/11 happened and I don't care what people say because everyone does!! haha)
  • So we load the plane..I don't mind take-off or landing..just turbulence.
  • So while on the plane, mostly I try to watch a movie on the back of the seat in front of me (if there are TV's)...so I pay 8$ for a movie and maybe watch 30 minutes of it because I'm too busy squeezing my dads arm or my boyfriend's leg at every movement and sound!
  • Salt Lake City Airport last winter!
  • Finally we land and I'm happy, but the entire week, or days we are on vacation, I'm thinking about the flight home!
Hahah I hope you guys don't think I'm a lunatic but it's just my biggest fear and I wish I could overcome it. There are so many places I want to travel to! But back to business...so we didn't purchase tickets..not because of me!! But because we really didn't think we could just decide a trip in like 2 days and save the money for it yada yada yada..but maybe you guys will see this deal and plan an impromptu trip with your loved one! Well yeah that was a rant but yeah..look into that amazing deal!

Ok so yes..today is thirsty thursday. One of the funnest restaurants to go to is this  restaurant called Fire and Ice. Depending on where you guys live in the US, or the world, they aren't too common. There's a few over here in New England, and maybe a few out west. Anyway, they have a delicious array of cocktails..but the 2 standouts are the Fire bowl or the Ice bowl..scorpion bowls! So I went a couple weeks ago and we got the Ice bowl..

It looks small in the photo but its huge, and they give you about 10 straws (though if you're drinker, you can definitely drink it yourself) So I ventured to find a recipe, though because of the mass amounts of alcohol in it, you can pretty much make your own concoction!
  • 2 oz. Gin
  • 1 oz. Rum, dark
  • 2 oz. Rum, 151 proof
  • 2 oz. Rum, white
  • 2 oz. Vodka
  • 2 oz. Grenadine
  • 4 oz. Orange Juice
  • 4 oz. Pineapple Juice
This is just one way of doing it..and I really want to make it with a bunch of fresh fruit cut up into chunks and just let it soak! Oh this brings me back to college days where we'd soak fruit in vodka or soak gummy bears in vodka! Haha!

I hope you all have a fabulous Thursday and this is where I wish I was right about now! Can anyone guess where I took this photo!?

toodles! xoxo

What I'm Missing Wednesday

Due to today's monsoon up here in New England, I figured I'd change my "What I'm Loving Wednesday" to "What I'm Missing Wednesday," since rain equals gloomy which equals depressing which equals blah! Though I'm in no way depressed or gloomy today, I just figured I'd somehow relate the crappy weather to my blog post!

one of our beautiful walls haha

martini bar with smokey martinis!

I'm missing a lot of things lately! First and foremost, I miss college!! I know I seem to complain about this daily, but really. I don't know the age range of my followers, hell, some might be 30 or 40, but we all have to miss college days. I've got my parents ragging on me telling me I'm going to start getting my own bills to pay, my college loan bills are going to be coming soon...eek! It's just all so REAL! I love it but then again I miss the feeling of freedom..the feeling of constant laughing with my roommates..making interesting dinners together...hating on one of my annoying roommates but feeling lucky that 5 out of the 6 of us got along amazingly. What prompted my missing of college was earlier this week when I made plans to meet up with one of my roommates. It was just weird..she lives in a different state and it was just strange to have to plan something rather than just getting into the car together and heading out. Does anyone else feel this way? I just graduated in May..when will I get over
this!

This cheer routine is amazing! I honestly really miss it after seeing this video a couple days ago. I did gymnastics for almost my entire life and had to stop when i get to college because my college didn't have a gymnastics team. I wanted to keep it up, but really didn't have the time for it so unfortunately I haven't done it!

* I miss waking up at noon
* I miss going on family vacations like 3 times a year back when we all weren't so busy
* I miss the summer already (though I can't wait for winter)
* I miss my dog who had to be put to sleep a month ago
* I miss all my friends who are either in grad school or have a full time job like me!
* I miss living in the moment, doing silly things, making new friends everyday..college you'll always have my heart!

Other than that, life is pretty good right now. The apples from my apple picking trip are almost gone! My insane, crazy, stalker-ish love for rapper Lil Wayne went over the top yesterday as I browsed the internet for hours looking for t-shirts of him..while drinking a water out of my Lil Wayne coozie! Life is great right now. Trivia tonight with everyone even though it goes until almost 11:30 pm, and since I transformed into an old woman who needs to go to bed by 10 to wake up for my hour commute, I get pretty damn tired!!

xoxo!

Oh it's Monday

Mondays are just so...Monday-ish!

In college, Monday's really didn't matter because college was just one big "have fun with your friends, do your homework, drink on a random Tuesday" kind of thing. But now, Monday work days are so ugghh! It's only Monday..four more work days! But I love my job so I'm okay..but still..it's Monday!

I had an amazing weekend filled with golf, Christmas shopping, and outlets shopping! All in all, great weekend.

So my sister is turning 21 in a few weeks and boy, she's PUMPED! But unfortunately her birthday is on Thanksgiving..meaning hanging out with the old folks, dealing with cousins running around, and glancing at the clock. Don't get me wrong..I love holidays, love my family, but I feel bad that my sister has to spend her 21st birthday NOT at a bar. I'm thinking my parents and I will probably take her to a bar after everyone goes home at least to get one little drink! But they do have a surprise for her 21st birthday..I'll keep you guys posted!

I'm such a lover for gift giving. I'd rather give than receive. Well I love receiving, but giving someone a gift and seeing them love it always makes me so happy! For one of my best friend's 21st, I made her this gift basket full of 21 little alcohol nips. She loved it! I'm probably going to do something similar for my sister, and adding a few other knick knacks.

And I leave you with this...a gorgeous sunset out the front of my senior year college dorm's door.  I miss college and those beautiful sunsets!! (pretty good photo for a blackberry huh!)

Other than that, I really don't have anything fun or interesting to tell you guys. Do you guys have any ideas of what to get my lil sis for her big 21st!? Just some cute/fun girly ideas!

Weekend Love

I've been waiting for tonight for the past week. Tonight is when I play my first glowball golf.  YES people..tonight. God, how did I convince myself that this was going to be okay!? My town is doing a fun little tournament tonight starting at 6 and we are given glow in the dark balls. The 30 degree weather won't have nothin' on us because we are going to have a blast.

Wearing snuggly mittens..taking them off for a swing at the glowing ball, putting them back on as we search the course for where it went, then taking a nice swig of a drink to keep us toasty! These are the memories..some of the best times of our life that we might not get to do again. Night golf..who would have thought!

I'll be sure to post some pictures of the event. I've been an avid golfer for over 10 years but I've never done night golf..and I must say, I'm a bit nervous!

just a slight tantrum hehe
My hunny and I are constantly coming up with cute, fun ideas to do together now that we are *semi* living together.  We've been apple/pumpkin picking, we've taken spontaneous drives at midnight to wherever the road takes us, we've eaten till our tummies cant eat no more at a food festival, and we freakin' climbed Mount Washington for goodness sake! Though I may have had a tantrum here and there on the way up, he pushed me and encouraged me to get my butt up there and I did it!

This Saturday, we are having a sleepover! Yes we do live together (kind of) but we are having a real sleepover! We'll drag the mattress into the living room, make lots of delicious, yummy appetizers/finger food as we sit in the living room in our comfy's watching silly movies, catching up on DVR'd tv shows, turning our phones and computers off, and just soaking up life and love. I'm so looking forward to it and suggest everyone do it! I'll post pics as well :)

I hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

Fall and Thirsty Thursday!

Wow it's been such a busy day I almost didn't have time to blog! Buuut I cannot stop writing and thinking so I just had to blog! Happy Thursday, almost Friday everyone! I drove to work this morning and saw this beautiful beautiful sunrise.  I leave for work around 6:30..a couple weeks ago it was so sunny as I left my house. Now, I leave in complete darkness and see the sun rise! It's bittersweet.  I hate getting up when it's still dark out, but I love watching the sun rise.

Also, some of my favorite aspects of fall! Winter is coming and I'm getting excited about ski season..but I'm going to miss frolicking in the snow with my roommates as we trek to parties or up to campus in knee-deep, sparkling snow. But there's something about fall. The crisp air, the amazing smells inside the Yankee Candle store, the cuddling up on the couch in cozy blankets with loved ones, and the fact that winter is right around the corner.  Man, I love fall!

I also love Thirsty Thursday! I've had the urge to have this drink since I can remember..I saw the recipe a few months ago and loved the fact that it was made in a COCONUT! Bars and restaurants I go to here up in the Northeast don't exactly have coconuts hanging around..so I'd have to have it in a regular ole' glass. The coconut just makes it though don't you think?

It's called the Pink Bikini..Here's the recipe and it makes a drink for about 10!

1 (1.75 liter) bottle raspberry lemonade
1 3/4 cups coconut rum
1 cup amaretto liquer

Mix it all together and pretend like you're in Hawaii or the tropics!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy Wednesday everyone! Here's what I'm happy about in my life and what I'm loving today! :)

My snuggly muffin boyfriend (yeah I went there..but he's just so darn cute!) Through this argument with my friend, he's been right by taking my side, but at the same time, he's telling me not to worry and things will turn out good in the end.  God I love him so much! There's nothing better than waking up next to him every morning feeling his cozy body next to mine..ahh the life!

I'm loving Dunkin Donuts iced tea.  I'm not a coffee drinker, hell I've never had coffee in my life! So to feel cool, I have to have something in my hands to fit in with the coffee crowd! hah just kidding.  This morning though, arriving at work at 8 AM an iced tea was in order..it just immediately made me happy.

I love that I'm going to play barstool trivia tonight at a bar near my house.  Every Wednesday night I get together with my parents, my aunt, boyfriend, and one of my best friends and we try to win first place..though we always come in like third or fourth! (even last place one time..oops!) It's a great time just to get together with everyone on hump day, have a few cranberry vodkas and pizza, and just let loose as we rattly off celebrity gossip, geography, and music news.

I'm loving that Verizon is moving towards selling the I-Phone.  Don't get me wrong..I love my Blackberry baby..but an I-Phone..they're awesome.  I have an I-touch and love the feel of it. So I hope they come out with that.

I'm loving my job. I thought I'd dread waking up at 6 to make the commute but I honestly love it. I feel so blessed to have an amazing college education that got me this amazing job! Now I just need to get past the entry-level fright and be confident in myself!

Loving life as I walk into my palace (kidding...its Mandalay Bay  in Vegas..a girl can dream!)

This is some stuff that I'm loving today! What are you guys loving!

Wedding Fever!?

I haven't blogged since Friday!  I don't know how it works in the blogging world..do we blog on weekends?  Is it like a job where we take it off?  I don't know!  But I really didn't have much time to blog this past weekend.

So I have wedding fever.  I don't know what it is.  I'm 22, and want to just plan a wedding!  I follow a bunch of blogs where girls are engaged, girls are planning their weddings, girls living their lovely married life and I just get very anxious!
How cool is this Tiffany's cake with mini cakes!

I've been with my hunny for 4 years..we aren't engaged..but I just get so excited about stuff like this..what can I say. So yesterday, as my boyfriend cooked dinner for us, I was furiously typing away on my laptop.  I was browsing wedding sites, vendor sites, photographer sites..frequently asking him if he would like tall centerpieces or what he thought about a photo booth.  He had no idea what I was searching on my laptop, so naturally he got suspicious after questioning him about centerpieces, garters, and chicken or fish.

Every time I watch "Say yes to the dress," I go on their website and search gowns upon gowns.  I already know I'm going to be the family with the big entourage that the girls HATE!  Kleinfeld Bridal will definitely be on my list of wedding dress stores to visit! I've already decided I want a late spring, early summer wedding and have a light blue and white nautical color theme wedding in Newport, Rhode Island at the Belle Mer.  Did I mention my dream wedding is a lot of $$? Haha yeah..it's a dream, people...but we'll see.  Now all I need is the ring!

I don't really know what got into me! Has anyone ever had this problem when they weren't even engaged!? I don't want to rush our relationship but how long is too long to wait?  We are very in love..both have amazing jobs (though I just started mine a month ago).

Plus, my college roommates want to be in a wedding! Haha! Am I too young to think about marriage?  College just ended and I'm starting life in the real world..but I cannot get this wedding thing out of my lil head!

Hello Friday!

Happy Friday everyone!

I've felt very inspired the past couple days after reading THIS BLOG Holy cow..this blog is amazing!  Before reading her posts, click the link up top where it says "start here if you're new."

After reading through countless posts by this blogger, Kelle Hampton...a few things came to my mind:

1.  I want kids right now! (well in a few years!)
2.  I want to take more pictures (though I take about 500 everywhere I go!)
3.  I want to do everything possible before I die

Seriously people!...read some of her blog..it is absolutely AMAZING..your heart will melt and you will just get lost in her words.

Her photography skills are excellent..she captures moments in photos that look as if you're looking at it happening at that second.  My photography skills...ehh...I try to be cute and capture loving moments between friends, sunsets over the water, and even snow..but I can't compare to her! Our favorite memories come from photos.  That's what I truly love..the fact that we can take a picture of something, and a year later look back and remember.  It's the best invention of life (besides internet..or I wouldn't be sharing this!)

I'll leave you guys with one of my photos that has me thinking!  I wish it was summer again so I could be frolicking on the beach like I was in this photo! This current 45 degree weather just isn't sitting well with me!  But I do love snow..I just don't love goosebumps! <3

I hope you all have an amazing weekend filled with lots of fun and laughter!

Thirsty Thursday!

So since I graduated college...am I allowed to still celebrate Thirsty Thursday!?  I think so!

Oh man..Thursday nights in college were almost like an extra weekend day.  Thursdays at my college usually went like this:

People went to class all morning, texting friends or roommates and telling them what shirt they were going to borrow that night. Then everyone went to the liquor store..

Wow..the liquor store on a Thursday..I stayed away between the hours of 3 pm and 7 pm..packed to the brim of people anxious to get their alcohol fix.  Writing this, I realize how pathetic us college kids must of looked to the regular joe's who just wanted a bottle of wine from the store to go with their dinner. Meanwhile, we're lugging cases of beer and trying to juggle different bottles as we trek to the car. After a fun night, we all got up for class, anxious to do it all over again the next 2 nights.  Boy do I miss just being able to relax and have fun with my friends!

I want to start a Thursday blog post trend (Thirsty Thursday) where I post up a delicious drink recipe that I've enjoyed!

This one can be consumed in a classy way by putting it into a champagne flute! You can never go wrong with a cute glass filled with a cute pink cocktail.

Here's what ya need!
2/3 of a glass of Champagne

All you do is pour them together into a champagne flute and voila!  A bubbly burst of a yummy pink cocktail...and it's called Tickled Pink. What i like to do to spice it up a bit is to buy a bag of frozen berries (they come in a package in the freezer section with raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries) and throw them into the glass..it also works great with other cocktails. Their website has a bunch of cute recipes to use with the X-Rated Fusion if you click the bold link in my recipe!

What are your favorite cute drinks?

Cute ideas for a cute life

I'm such a sucker for cute little trinkets to add to my life, whether they be useful or not!

Since I graduated from college and got a big girl job, even though I've been working for only a month, I suddenly feel the need to buy something every time I go shopping!  This is how my brain works:

My brain- "I need to have that cute pink ice cream bowl.  30$?! Okay well I have a job so I'm getting paid so I think I deserve to buy this ice cream bowl."

Just because I have a job, my brain thinks I can suddenly afford anything and everything!  My job is entry level salary..which means I'm not making anywhere near the $100,000 my brain thinks I'm making!  These are some cute things I love and I think everyone needs to buy!

This little cutie was only like 3$! Bath and Body works sells them in all different colors and patterns...it's like a little holder for your hand sanitizer!  I'm not a big germ-a-phobe or anything but I just had to have it because it was so cute.  And also, the sanitizer inside of it smells like a Margarita!  It even matches my purse!

If you ever have a dinner party, or even have the girls over for a couple cocktails, you NEED these!  They're called Lolita Glassware they're the cutest.  I've been trying to collect as many as I can.  For 25$ you can get a martini glass designed in all sorts of colors, ribbons, and diamonds.  They also sell wine glasses, beer glasses, ice cream bowls, shot glasses and more!  BUT! The best part?! At the bottom of each glass, they give you a drink recipe with a cute name!  Love it so much.  This is their Princess Martini glass.

This just SCREAMS cute! It's called Babycakes Cupcake Maker. Pretty much this tiny thing packs a PUNCH of that sweet cupcake flavor we all know and love, in only 5-8 minutes!  How cute is it though..and portable! If you buy one they come with recipes and cute little tools to decorate. And their mini..so less calories..but really..we all know we could eat every cupcake in this machine.

Okay so those are a few of my cute little *must-haves.*  What kind of things do you like to have JUST BECAUSE!

xoxo
