I cried twice yesterday

To be listened to while reading...just to set the mood, ya dig? ;-)

I cried two times yesterday out of PURE LOVE. TWO!!

The first, was when I read THIS post, by the amazing Mr. Nelson, hubs of one of my besties, Shalyn. Preeeettty sure this made it's way around the ENTIRE blogosphere and had everyone teared up. I just felt I had to share again :-)

Tears. And goosebumps. And chills. And just smiles all around for the real love they share. It made me want to leave work, go home, and hug Kurt. I know I'm not engaged yet or married, but this is the type of love I look up to as inspiration...as something I know I want. Because it's real and wholesome and just makes my heart happy.

I then saw this photo floating around Facebook....it's a photo from 2007 but saw it shared from at least 5 of my friends for some reason. It's different in the sense that this is about love and death, but oh boy it made it tear up like cray cray.

The night before the burial of her husband’s body, Katherine Cathey refused to leave the casket, asking to sleep next to his body for the last time. The Marines made a bed for her, tucking in the sheets below the flag. Before she fell asleep, she opened her laptop computer and played songs that reminded her of “Cat,” and one of the Marines asked if she wanted them to continue standing watch as she slept. “I think it would be kind of nice if you kept doing it,” she said. “I think that’s what he would have wanted.”

Seriously...how can anyone handle so much love in one day? One of my favorite quotes in the entire world is from Winnie the Pooh:

If you live to be 100, I hope I live to be 100 minus 1 day so I never have to live a day without you

And then there's my grandparents, who passed away away within 4 months of each other, wanted to be buried in the same plot, with their caskets on top of each other so they could be close. MELT MY HEART.

Yesterday just really got me thinking about love in general. Sure, Kurt gets on my last frickin nerve, and will purposely push my buttons, and will put his hands in his pants "just because I feel like holding IT" because he knows it annoys me, but I really wouldn't change any of that if it meant not being with him.

So there's some love for ya to kick off the weekend! :-)

Chat Roulette

Have you ever been on Chat Roulette? Basically it's a website where you his START and you come face to face with other people and you can chat with them. Most of the time its a webcam of a penis, or a man in a mask, or two giddy 12 year olds.

Sometimes Kurt and I like to go on ChatRoulette pretending to be one of my teddy bears

And we encounter weirdos who want to see my face. Come on dude, can't you see my fuzzy face and my red hat?!

And sometimes we meet other fluffy friends

I mean after 5 years of being together, this is what we do. Oh...and our cable box was broken so how else were we going to entertain ourselves?

Skankalicious

I was in line getting my soup yesterday at lunch and happened to catch the tail end of a conversation between two middle-aged woman talking about Halloween costumes.

"I found my daughters bunny costume hidden under her bed...I cant wait to see my husbands reaction"
"Oh my...Are you two dressing up?"
"We're being Batman and Catwoman..I bought a similar costume as Melissa Gorga from Jersey Housewives"

True story. I hope I'm that confident when I'm 40.

Annnnyway. It got me thinking. When are we too old for slutty Halloween costumes? I mean, the other day I was in Victoria Secret and I caught a glimpse of their costumes...deeeliciously sexy...if I was going to a party at the Playboy Mansion.

My senior year of college I bought a $60 costume. I also dressed up two nights in a row. Last I remember Halloween was only one night..but hey, everyone else did it ;-)

Halloween night some of my roomies and I were naughty school girls, and our boyfriends were our nerds

Kurt looks REDICULOUS and so do my tights and heels. Oh and I couldnt bend over that much which hindered my dance moves #KurtLikedIt

Another night we were rocker girls.

I'll spare you the rest of my body but basically I sported some TINY tight black shorts and fishnet stockings with my Ed Hardy low-tops. Ugh this makes me miss college and my roommates!

ANYWHO. When does it become innaprop to dress in revealing Halloween outfits? I vote never..until maybe my boobs hit my ankles. Embrace your inner sexiness! (and make someone do it with ya!)

I couldn't eat a cow testicle

Happy Monday!

Kurt and I were watching The Amazing Race last night. A commercial came on and it said they were holding casting calls in the Boston area for next season. I immediately went to the website to check it out.

I'm the first to say that Kurt and I would most likely kill each other on this race. We would totally be "that couple" who argues about whose going to eat the cow testicle or who is going to lug a 10 pound bag of rocks on their back. Then I would be wicked dramatic and cry and stomp my feet and have a temper tantrum.

I wouldn't want you all to judge me when you see my cry face, or see me act like a complete and total BITCH. Or see me absolutely torment Kurt and blame him because I can't figure out a hieroglyphics puzzle.

But I can't help but think how much FUN it would be to travel the world together. To experience new things.

To learn new languages and cultures.

To accomplish something huge together

The thing is though, no matter how much we would get on eachother's nerves or how difficult it would be for me to get on a plane to different countries, I know it would bring us even closer together than we already are. If not the Amazing Race, I hope one day we do get to travel the country and parts of the world together!

So excuse me, while Kurt and I sit down and create a video of the 2 of us to submit to CBS. HAH! Yeah right!
Could you see yourself and a loved one on the Amazing Race or would you prefer doing it with a family member or friend?!

Wanna know what makes me really happy?

Daily emails with two of my friends.

These girls right here...since preschool, baby...we go BACK.

The three of us have the coolest, most awesome, weirdest friendship. I'll openly call my friend Liz a skank-a-potemus and then tell her I love her....or I'll tell my friend Cristina she's a whiney, bratty, stumpy von dutch.  I love our weird daily chats that get us through our work days.

I was going through deleting old emails yesterday laughing and just had to share some. While we are each cooped up in our 9-5 jobs, we get by with daily email chains that range from talking about what we are doing this weekend, to how work is, and to jokingly bashing each other for no apparent reason. We've known eachother for 20 years...yowza!

Warning: X-Rated words ahead. Shield your eyes!  We joke, we joke ;-)

Sometimes we use the F word

Sometimes they read my blog and question my small boob syndrome

Sometimes we (I) get wicked gross

Sometimes we use weird subject lines from Jenna Marbles

Annnnnd sometimes we (I) get pornographic and use the C word

I know it probably seems like we never take each other seriously or we always talk to each other in gross, crude language, but that's not true! We just like to let loose, make eachother laugh at innapropriate jokes while at work, and just let out our inner weirdness. Even if that means using the guzzler phrase (sorry, G rated readers!)

Happy HumpDay!

I'm here to say that no one in highschool has changed

Before I dive into the post about how I got drunk at my 5 year high school reunion, I wanted to give a birthday shout-out to Rissy!! Happy 24th birthday pretty lady! Knowing you, it will be a fabulous year! :-) Oh and I'm sorry this huge photo will be the display photo on Blogger Dashboard hahah!

Anyway, last night I attended my reunion. Here's the lo-down:

My friends and I spent almost 10 minutes in the car outside the
sketchy restaurant/hall deciding who would walk in first, how we
would walk in, where we would walk to, etc.

No one has really changed. There were some guys still sporting the same
white polo hats with the same Timberland boots that they wore while feeling
up Jenny in the bathroom. The girls, looked relatively the same, but a few
had some enhancements, if ya know what I mean!

About 20 people in there were either married, engaged, pregnant,
or already had kids. My friend and I were in the bathroom at one point where
two girls were sharing childcare programs and their prices

Three or four guys at one point had their shirts off dancing
to "it's raining men" with a group of people in a circle around them watching.
If this doesn't scream prom, I don't know what does!

But let me just say, I had a freakin' BLAST!! I am actually so glad I went. I was really excited to see most people there, though at one point some girl who I thought was very nice, sweet, and couldn't do no harm, came up to me and said:

"Oh My GOD Erica!! I was so hoping you were going to be here!
You look so great! But omg I have some weed do you wanna go
smoke? I have like 10 blunts! I'm so high right now!"

Hahaha Classy!

Oh..and on every table, the planners thought it'd be a fabulous idea to cut out everyone's senior pictures and spread them all over the tables. I grabbed mine, as well as two ex-boyfriends, an ex-friend, a girl I always thought was odd, and some guy who I thought was cute in 10th grade.

I kept them in my back pocket and then at midnight when I came home drunk and needed Kurt's help taking off my jeans, they all flew out of the pockets and now they are spread on my dresser.

Overall, I'm glad I went! But one thing I did learn. Everyone hangs out with the exact same people they did in highschool. One of my friends said hi to someone that was in her classes for 4 years, and the girl looked away in disgust. I mean really, grow up you ho-bag, you ain't all that.

But I am glad I was there...even if I was two cocktails deep :-)

My Dad

Yesterday was my dad's birthday. I had absolutely ZERO time to blog so this will have to be a belated birthday post! Plus, after reading Ashley's dad post, I had to do the same because of how flippin cute it was :-)  I appreciate my dad so much just like she does her own!

There are just so many things I love about my dad. I love that he calls me "his first born."

I love that when he texts me, it's like he's writing a letter signing his name. See?

I love that growing up in middle school, and high school, he was always "the project guy." He helped my sister and I build school projects and weird crazy science fair stuff. Sometimes even COMPLETELY taking over. Woops!

 Dad totally rockin' the Porn-Stache

I love that he is always the go to one when my mom says no. I mean come on, aren't most dads like that ;-)

I love that he calms me down in panicked situations...like when I called him screaming and crying when my old car's window cracked on the way to work, or when my old car broke down in the middle of Boston rush hour traffic.

This happened. Yes I was crying like a lil babe!

I love that no matter what, he is always there for my mom, sister, and I, and would drop a hat for us at any given moment!

Love you daddy Jordan! Happy Birthday!! You don't look a day over 25! hehe

Few too many there, Erica? ;-)

One year ago today....

I wrote this post. It was my first blog post ever! Yup...today is my one year blogiversary!

Who knew that in one year, my blog would be my creative outlet, as well as a place for me to learn new things, be inspired, and meet some of the most AMAZING people I have ever met?! (both in real life and just over the internet)

And to everyone else I have exchanged emails with, texts, tweets, letters, everything...Thank you all....SO MUCH! I have loved learning so many new things about you all.

When I first started my blog, I didn't have a clue what I was going to talk about. I remember cringing the first month of my blog, thinking I was so lame and so weird. But then I started striking up email conversations with other bloggers, and eventually I realized that I am so similar to other people I have met through this little slice of the internet.

Thanks to blogging, I've found a million different recipes by stalking your blogs.

Thanks to blogging I realized I can tell you all pretty much everything, and get lots of positive support.

Thanks to blogging, I have found out that I really truly love writing, and I didn't waste $160,000 by going to college for writing, (granted I don't really write about journalist-ic things!)

Thanks to blogging, I feel confident enough to rap and vlog in front of you all just for a good laugh.

And thanks to blogging, again, I have met some of the most amazing people this past year. I wish I could put you all in a little box and keep you all to myself!

So, little blog, what's next? Who knows! But....I'm loving it :-) Oh...and I'm loving y'all!

Can you lick your elbow?

A few years ago I heard on a silly news segment that it was impossible to lick your elbow.

PSSSHHHH. Not if you have a lizard tongue like myself!

I'd like to introduce you to my elbow licking abilities, along with Kurt's messy apartment, and the nest that is currently living on the left side of my head.

Wow blogger...great shot to choose as my freeze frame!

Ludacris-What's your fantasy..eh? eh? I felt it went well with the whole lick thing!

Happy weekend :-)
