Why do girls do what they do?

Being a girl comes with its fair share of unexplainable stuff.

I'm not sure a guy will ever quite understand why girls need to look at  themselves if they walk by a mirror, a tinted car window or a storefront window.

Or I'm not sure a guy will ever quite understand why we need to try clothes on multiple times before deciding to buy it.

I have some weird things I do myself:

After I put on stretchy pants to work out, I look at (and usually squeeze)
my butt as if I'm testing out the pants (pshh, ALL OF Y'ALL do that!)

I usually dance in bathrooms if I find myself alone
I dance while I brush my hair in the morning

I could go on about how Kurt won't throw away a pair of boxers with a GIGANTIC hole in them "because they're just so soft Erica I can't throw them out. It needs to breathe down there."

Do you have anything quirky that you do that might seem weird to others!?

Store Discrimination!?

Happy Monday friends! :-)

A few years ago, my parents talked about buying a new Chevy Suburban. A new Suburban probably runs at about $60,000 or more. The day my dad decided to buy one, he went into the dealership straight from work. He's an interior decorator/painter/carpenter extraordinaire, so he was wearing painters pants, a dirty shirt, a dirty hat, and probably smelled from working all day.

But he did have a reason for this! And this blog post does have a point. See, my parents have bought their fair share of cars from their fair share of hoity toity, snobby, 10+ years experience sales guys.

So this particular day, he wanted those snobby, experienced sales men to see this dirty, grungy man walk in, and hand him over to one of the new, inexperienced car salesman; probably because they didn't think he'd be buying a brand new car. That's exactly what happened. My dad bought the car, and the new guy walked away with a nice commission.

I think about that story my dad's told me a lot. Because it's true. We do judge people based on appearance. I've walked into Hot Topic in J-Crew clothes and aren't asked to be helped at all. Today I went into Ann Taylor looking like a slothy mc slother wearing leggings and an old sweatshirt...not the pretty blouses and pencil skirts that the employees were wearing. No one said a word to me! I took note of this because I saw another woman walk in, dressed to the nines, and she was greeted right away!

I'm not saying that it was because we were dressed differently, but sometimes I do feel as though businesses judge you according to your looks; which isn't really fair! Oh sheesh now I probably sound bratty. I'm only speaking from experience! Am I the only one who thinks this?

And hey, I did walk out with this pretty little number!

Happy Monday!

Look at that booty

Mood music...trust me.

Today I was going to share some pictures from my little trip to Mont Tremblant but as I was looking through them again, my eye was drawn to one photo:

Excuse me. Last I checked I didn't have an ass like that...

I turned my laptop to Kurt.

"Kurt look at this picture"
"WOW look at your ass!! God I love that thing..."

Okay honestly where did this come from? It must have been the way I was standing because although I have SOME ass, I definitely don't have THAT ASS 24/7.

Then I did this because I'm weird:

Clearly I am no photoshop professional haha

Look at how flexible my arm is! It curves ;-)

Have you ever looked at a picture of yourself and thought WOW where did that booty come from? Or where did those bubbies come from? Ca-Razy.

Happy Hump-Day!

Facebook Slander?

I’ve written about Facebook statuses in the past. Some that are funny, some that are weird, and some that are just downright nonsense. Okay okay let me just share one funny one I saw the other day:

"I just want to roll around in money and feel it on my private parts"

Yup.

But on a more serious note, yesterday I saw a status that really made me feel bad. A kid I went to middle school with, mind you this was almost 10 years ago, posted a status about two middle school teachers. It was something along the lines of “Mr ___ was such a weirdo and now that I am an adult I would totally punch Mr___.

At first I sort of chuckled. Mainly because I knew most people didn’t like these staff members. But as I read through all 40 COMMENTS, I realized how cruel people were being…on FACEBOOK! A public place.

They were making fun of multiple teachers. And not just things like “he sucks” or “she was mean.” Literally making sexual comments, comments about appearance, comments about teachers having affairs. And then it got worse with people bringing up students who weren’t exactly the most popular kids in school (GOD FORBID!!!) and making fun of them.

It got to a point where I was just like, really? This is why you’re still living at home, hanging out with the same friends, doing the same things, drinking the same crappy beers you drank in middle school. I realized they still hadn’t let go of their past. Hadn’t moved on. And it made me angry.

What gives, people? I know a lot of teachers who have Facebook and I’m sure some of them saw this!

So what would you do? If I had balls, I’d write something on the comment, but I’m seriously such a scardy cat and hate confrontation. But at the same time, I hated seeing this and felt really horrible!

Spicy Short Story link-up and V-day love!

Happy Valentine's Day my gorgeous gorgeous friends!! :-)

A couple fun things for you all today! First, last week one of my lovely friends, Ashley from Adventures of Newlyweds, posted about a short story link-up and I literally got so excited. I miss writing short stories so much and I had to try this! Basically Ashley gave us a list of sentence starters to choose from. I chose an interesting one about a girl possibly having an affair. Not sure why I chose it but I thought it was one I could have a bit of fun with! Relax peeps, I'd never have an affair. Ready? Here goes!

She watched his lithe body saunter away. “You’re engaged,” she reminded herself.  Lily had been working late the past few nights to ensure her deadline would be met for the column she’d been working on. Working late also meant spending more time with Jack, one of the magazine’s graphic designers. As Jack went to leave her office, he stopped himself and turned around.

“How late are you planning on staying here tonight? It’s almost 10:00!”

They were the only ones left in the office at this hour, and for the past few nights, he had made sure to wait until she was done so she wouldn’t be alone.

“Honestly, go home. I will be fine! I have just 5 more sentences to write,” she exclaimed.

She looked down at her BlackBerry and noticed a missed call from Nate, her fiancĂ©. Poor guy. She’d been coming home late for the past week and had barely seen him. As she went to call him back when she noticed that Jack was still standing in the doorway.

“That’s it. Close the laptop and let’s go get fried dough and a slushie,” he said.

Lily glanced up at him. She loved the way his dirty blonde hair looked all haphazard and tousled. And the way his sleeves were rolled up to his elbows showing his muscular forearms.

“Fried dough and a slushy? What kind of combination is that!?” she inquired.

It’s the type of combination that’s going to get that fine ass out of that chair.
Move it or lose it,” he said as he walked out of the office.

Sweat started forming on the edge of her forehead. Walking through the city at night with Jack excited her! But what about Nate? Would he care? Would I tell him? She wondered. Grabbing her bag, Lily stood up and walked towards Jack’s office where he was putting on his NorthFace jacket.

“I’ll only get fried dough if we can get extra powdered sugar,” she flirted a bit.

Stop, stop, you’re engaged! Tell Nate! Call him and tell him you are going to grab a snack with a co-worker after a long day of work. There’s nothing to worry about. Just tell him.

But she couldn’t. She couldn’t bring herself to call him and tell him. Her fingers furiously typed a message to confirming she’d be home by 11 the latest. Though for some reason Lily knew she wouldn't be home at 11. Something about Jack intrigued her. Something about Jack made her mind go absolutely crazy. She'd longed for this day ever since she started working closely with him to design her column. Turning towards Jack, she told him she was ready to go.

"Good. This will be fun," he said with a coy smile.

To be continued!.....

Actually, we aren't sure what we are doing yet because I entered a contest to win a Valentine's Day dinner by submitting 7 things I love about my loved one. So Cheesy...haha I'm That Girl.

An innapropriate conversation

Hi party people! I've missed you all so much!

So today I was going to blog about something meaningful and mushy but got sidetracked...I'll save that for another day because TODAY, I just felt like sharing a weird conversation Kurt and I have from time to time. Mainly because we were just having a similar conversation yesterday.

Note to any sensitive readers I may or may not have, this is purely joking. So sometimes Kurt and I have conversations like this:

Me: Would you still love me the exact same if one day I just grew a penis
Kurt: No because you would have a penis and I like girls
Me: But I'd still be ME
Kurt: Yeah...with a penis

Or...

Me: Okay...what if one day I was involved in this horrible accident where I
got sprayed with chemicals and gases that caused me to grow a penis...
Kurt: No
Me: But it's non-functional...it's just THERE
Kurt:  No...it's still a penis

Or sometimes I get really bad...

Me: What if I had a terminal illness that in order for me to stay
alive the doctors had to sew a penis onto me
Kurt: Because then you would be a dude and I like girls
Me: But if it's the only means of survival
Kurt: It's not

Not that I need to explain myself, but I have zero issues/problems with anyone who is in the LGBT group so don’t scold me! This is just my weird self being weird.

Before you're quick to judge, which I know most of you are, I really don't want to grow a penis all of a sudden to test Kurt's love for me. I just think having weird conversations like this are fun! I like to keep things interesting! Plus, in 30 years when I re-read this, I'll question my life back then.

Happy Tuesday!

That time I was so dumb

Today I just felt like sharing a quick funny story because my family and I were talking about it last night!

Once upon a time, in 8th or 9th grade, one of my classes was having a discussion about Euthanasia. You know...intentionally ending someone's life in order to free them of pain. However, I must have only been half paying attention.

So at the end of class, my teacher told us she wanted us to write a paper by the end of the week on Euthanasia and its effects, etc etc. As soon as we got out of class, I panicked! I hadn't paid attention at all (rebel without a cause). Someone in class told me we were to write a paper on Euthanasia. Still, I panicked.

I went to the library that night and got all sorts of books and looked up articles and stories online and everything I could.

So what was the problem? Well since I hadn't been paying attention...like, AT ALL, I ended up researching and writing a paper on the YOUTH IN ASIA. Aka....kids in Asia. Yup. I'm dumb.

I wrote about how there were laws in China about families only having one child to prevent over-population, gender imbalance, and anything else that related to the YOUTH IN ASIA. My teacher said she laughed so hard she couldn't fail me. But since I didn't do it right, I ended up with a C on the paper. I'll take it!

So I wish I could tell you I'm making this up...sadly, I am not.
Go ahead. Laugh!
I do! And so does everyone else that knows this story!
And I promise you I did graduate high school with honors! I'm not a real dummy!
Now, all of y'all know :-)
