Things I wish I could do

I am all for the saying "you can do anything that you put your mind too." However, sometimes that's just a crock of crapola! No matter how hard I try, I still can't accomplish these things.

Every time I go to Zumba, I leave discouraged for one reason. I can't do the chest shimmy thing that belly dancers do. I mean I'm sure if I had bigger boobs it'd be easier to fake it!

I wish I could do this with my hair without having a temper tantrum trying

I wish I could learn to do this dance. I've tried. And failed at 99% of it. The best I can do is pretend I have swag..

I wish I could learn how to snowboard. Kurt's tried teaching me a bunch of times but I always resort back to my trusty skis!

I wish I could write a book. I know one day I might, even if it never gets published and it's just for myself, however the past few months every time I've tried, it just hasn't been able to come to me!

What do you wish you could do but struggle with?!? Happy Thursday pumpkins!

Facebook Status: Sexual Feeling

I'm creepin' on yo Facebook around the corner. Watch ya back!!

Well apparently people were having a sexual weekend and getting all sorts of lucky. I got lucky. And by lucky I mean going to a bar/club in Boston with men walking around with buckets of 1$ chicken teriyaki sticks. Oh and there were test tube shots....What's better than that at 2am? Not much.. ;-)

Anyway, these are some of the status's I came across that were just too good not to share.

I love sneezing. This whole eighth of an orgasm thing is
making me make myself sneeze eight times in a row.

If this baby doesn't come out soon I'm going to shove my
hand up my vagina and pull it out. PAIN. PAIN. PAIN.

When in doubt, pull out.

{Picture of girl puking in a trash can with a guy holding her hair. His caption:}
This wasn't the only time I was pulling her hair this night.

I need a rag doll girl. None of this "I'm a dead fish" crap.

There really are no words except for Happy Tuesday :-)

Branching Out

Boston from the sea yesterday afternoon :-)
Saturday morning, I stumbled upon an old email from Boston Bloggers about a blogger meet up earlier this month. I think I had signed up for email subscriptions waaaay back when I joined the blog world over a year ago. As I read through the email for real, I absolutely kicked myself for not going. I'll be honest; I like to consider myself as an outgoing, friendly person, but sometimes branching out and meeting new people scares me, especially at different city blog meet ups.

I think what scares me the most is worrying about what other people will think of me. Yeah, I know that's a pretty shit-tastic trait to have, worrying what others think about you, but when you put your life out there for the world to see on blogland, it's a little intimidating! As I looked through about 100+ bloggers who blog in my city, I wondered why I hand't looked into it earlier. Granted, most of the bloggers are huge with 5 weezy-illion followers and are featured in Boston newspapers and magazines and all that jazz. I quickly pushed that fear out of my mind. Blogging is an amazing outlet to meet people and get over your fear of branching out. I mean, I did fly to Texas and drive to Ohio to meet some amazing girls...why can't I drive 10 minutes to meet people from my city! I don't think I'm THAT scary...

Is there anyone else with these silly nerves to meet other bloggers in your city? Any advice for city blog meet-ups?

Friday's Letters: Lil Wayne and some skankiness

Dear Lil Wayne: If that isn't THE SEXIEST picture of you in the entire world, than I don't know what is. Even sexier because you're rocking my Boston Sox! Dear Six Flags: I am so glad I have a season pass to you. Now I just want to go to every single Six Flags in the world. Road trip anyone? Dear beach: I'm excited for you this weekend...even though I will most likely lather my bod up with SPF 5,000 so I don't burn and have to jump around in the shower. Dear Ann Taylor: Ann, I had to go panty-less today. Otherwise I would have been THAT GIRL with the see through dress. But then I just felt ho-ish. Dear blogland: I've felt like I neglected you this week and I hate that! Dear boobs: You look bigger. I ain't hatin'.

Link up with Ashley for Friday's Letters! Have a great weekend everyone!

That time Kurt and I were almost millionaires

Let me preface this post with the following:

1) Kurt builds his own computers.
2) Kurt went to college for computer science.
3) Part of our bookshelf looks like this:

No idea what half this crap means

Okay back to my story. And I swear there is a point to my preface. So Kurt and I frequently drive down to visit his family in New Jersey. It's about a 4 hour ride. While most of it is spent rapping every song imaginable by Eminem or singing to Jimmy Buffet, sometimes we do actually have meaningful conversations.

This was about a year and a half ago. We were somewhere in Connecticut on our way home, and Kurt and I started talking about how we wish we could invent something no one had. I started rattling off all these things that I thought were so cool, but Kurt rained on my parade and said they already exist.

Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. Kurt knows technology. He reads technology books like girls read 50 Shades of Grey. I said he should invent an iPhone/Android game application. I came up with this fantastic game idea and how he could design the cutesey features and make it a strategic game.  He was SOLD.

Time goes on. I tell everyone about our fantastic idea. Kurt glances at a book on creating phone applications once and a while. Meanwhile, I ask everyday what the progress is. Has he figured out how to code? Does he know how to make the cute little man I created in my mind? Nope; laziness took over and he just never got around to it.

Yes he will

Fast forward to about a month ago. I'm sitting at work, having completely forgotten about our game idea. I get a text from my sister and she said "Search for Bag It! in the app store...isn't this the game Kurt wanted to make?" I searched it, and then threw my cell phone into kingdom come.

That was the game idea we thought of almost 2 years ago!
No lie.
A grocery bagging strategy game!

And now some schmuck is wiping his bum with $100 bills because Kurty bear was too late to the party.

Anyway, the point of this story and the reason I'm telling you now is because I just downloaded the app today; and it's awesome. It is exactly what I was picturing.

But hey, ya win some ya lose some! Kurt, if you are reading this, please create an app that turns boyfriends into application creating machines. Love you!

Playing tourist

I've lived right outside of Boston for 23 years and I don't think I could ever get sick of my city.

Yesterday Kurt and I walked around Boston and I dragged along Candy (my camera; yeah we're on a first name basis here!)

I have to admit. When I see people lugging around giant SLR cameras and camera bags and lenses and lens cleaners and shirts that say I HAVE A CAMERA (just kidding about that last part), I automatically assume they aren't from here. Then I usually try and listen for a cool accent. But then I look down at myself holding my own camera. Well, shit. I live here. I'm not visiting. I just love my city!

Sometimes it's fun to play tourist. To walk around and see parts of your home that you normally walk past or never notice. You live where you live, why not make the best of it? I am so happy my city has so much beauty, history, and energy! Boston never disappoints!

The first time Kurt's parents came up to visit us, we gave them the grand tour. We were headed into the Boston Common and we smelled something distinct. It got closer. And then I got the munchies so bad I ate the shirt off Kurt's back. It was HEMPFEST. People were just chillin, smokin' doobies like nobody's business. Guitars were a-strummin, and people were living life.

Let me tell ya, it was a pretty interesting way to introduce them to Boston but nonetheless, they fell in love.

I think Boston has that effect to it. You come here, and you love it. But then again, I could just be susceptible to beautiful cities. Case and point; Austin and Columbus. Went to both cities this past year and just fell in loooove!

Do you ever play tourist in your own city?

Thoughts Right Now...

Happy Hump Day! I didn't work Monday so I keep thinking today is Tuesday which I guess is good. Why can't work weeks be 4 days long? Or even 1 day long? Can I retire yet? Anyway, I'm going to ramble.

Last night I made my pretty friend Katie's 4-bean chilly. Yes its 85 degrees. Yes its June. Yes I sweat my balls off. But damn I am sooo thankful Katie shared this recipe. It's delicious and takes less than 1 hour.

Every night I take at least 20 minutes to creep through some clothing websites. Bookmark things I want to buy. Bookmark things I want to buy but never will because I can't pull it off. Bookmark things that are fierce as HELL. Like this. I know that if I ever stepped out of my room in this outfit for a date with Kurt or to go out with my friends, they'd look at me like I transformed into Lil Wayne. But how hot is this outfit?

A few months ago, Sabrina gave me this camera and I am in love with it. How cool is it? Obsessed. How awesome and sweet is she? 1000000%. Love that mamacita!

I have been thinking of cool things to do with my little polaroids that emerge from the top. Kurt loves a good project, so I might have him help me make these little magnets!

Kurt was home in New Jersey for a few days and got back yesterday. I was at work when he got home, but baked him brownies and got him a congratulations card to be all cute for getting promoted. Gotta keep things spicy, ya dig? He enjoyed my brownies...

Have a fantastic day!!

Friday's Letters: I am hideous

Dear photo above: This is the reason why face masks should be done in the comfort of your own home where no one can see the hideousness that ensues. Oh and yeah.. adding bright lipstick makes you feel prettier.

Dear Kurt: I am SO proud that after three years as a contract employee, you were finally brought on as full time. No one deserves it more than you! :-)

Dear golf: I can't wait to play you again soon! Itchin' to get out on the links!

Dear wine:
Why do you give the perfect buzz?

Dear Lil Wayne: I'm totally buying stuff from your new clothing line TRUKFIT. Whattup gangsta? Need a personal assistant?

The perfect engagement ring

Before you guys go ape-shit and think I got engaged, relax! No, Kurt has not decided to get down on one knee and whisper sweet words of wedding bells in my ear and tell me how much he can't wait to decide between lilies or lilacs and how he wants sew our wedding date in all of his undies.

Trust me when I say this. Kurt has no idea about anything with weddings. He didn't even know sometimes couples have more than one bridal shower. Hmm

Okay before I go throwing Kurt under le bus, let me fess up and say I don't know much about weddings either. I know what looks nice, I know what I don't want, and I know I definitely want something like this somewhere in my wedding venue (preferably close to my table).

But my question for all of you beautiful friends, how the effing F do you decide what type of ring you like?

From our very rare conversations on engagement and marriage, Kurt has already told me that I will have ZERO idea when it is coming, nor will he give ANY hints, nor will we ever go try on rings together. I kind of like that :-) I like the element of surprise, but that's just me! Everyone is so different and that's what I love when I listen to people share their engagement stories.

But what he has told me, is that even though he kind of knows what I like as far as jewelry, he would like a tiny bit of insight in what type of rings I like. So am I saying it's coming soon? Probably not. Maybe in the next year and a half? We'll see!

How do you decide what type of ring you like? Besides the obvious, meaning going to the store and trying them on with your girlfriends or by yourself. Even if you aren't engaged or married, do you know what you like?

What are things to think about? Getting it snagged on your panties as you pull them on? Cutting your loved ones body when you wrap your arms around them? Making sure it sparkles juuuuust right in perfect summer sunlight? One stone? Two stone? Three stone? 1 tequila 2 tequila 3 tequila floor?

I need some insight here :-)

Sorry! I'm a competitive girlfriend

One of my favorite things about Kurt and I's relationship is how competitive we are...with each other. Relax...it's just playful, mostly. Except for the times when race each other home from somewhere in our cars on different routes to see whose route is faster, and then boasting when one of us is the winner. That may not be the safest thing.

A few summers ago, Kurt and I were living in this small apartment in Boston for 3 months while we were doing internships. It was the first time we lived together and we were excited. Money was tight, we ate lots of soup and sandwiches, and didn't get to go out as much as we wanted. But it was probably one of my favorite times with him.

We love the game SORRY! Remember that game? So that summer, almost every night after work, we'd play maybe 3 or 4 games and keep track of who won. It went on all summer. 150+ games later, I won for winning the most games YAH! I may have bragged about it for months.

We started it again. And right now, I'm killing Kurt by at least 5 games. Every time we each win a game, we run to the fridge to tally up. And scream in delight. And brag in each other's face. I just love it.

Sad faces mean losers, hearts mean winners

Boo. Yah. Update to come on who gets to 150 games first :-)
