This is not a royal wedding post

Okay so just a few little tidbits:
  • Kate is gorgeous
  • Kate’s sister is ALSO  gorgeous
  • William looked so cute and nervous..but is he balding?
  • What’s in Queen Elizabeth’s purse? What could she possibly be carrying in it?
  • Why is Harry still single?

One of my bloggy cuties, who you should totally check out, Megan at Mackey Madness, touched upon a very serious issue that made me think! The disasters and devestations going on down in the southern states is so heartbreaking and sad, that I feel like its almost overlooked with all the Royal Wedding stuff. I know we can't physically stop one thing and focus on the other, but I think it's also important to think about what's happening down there. I truly wouldn't know what to do.

This girl right here is freakishly afraid of weather. If there's a thunder and lightening storm at night, I will curl into the fetal position in my bed just in case a tree falls down on my house or something. Like I believe somehow the tree and other debris will just miss me completely if I am curled in a ball..yeah I don't know haha. I just hope that everyone affected by the weather is okay and know we are all thinking of ya'll.

And since I am in a British mood (said in a British accent), I heard about a new show on MTV.

Oh who are they? They're the cast of The Geordie Shore. That's a British spin-off of The Jersey Shore. Are we for real here? At first I thought it was a bunch of freaks making up a fake trailer of the show in lieu of the royal wedding shizz. But oh no, it's for real. Click the link and check out the trailer...it's mind boggling.

Will you guys watch? I'm pretty sure I will watch...mainly because I want to know why that dude in the striped shirt has such a tiny pin-head, and I want to see how the girl on the right in the black tries to make herself exactly like Snooki.

Oh reality TV..how I love thee!

The Best Invention

 Wanna see something cool?
via HoodieBuddie
That looks like a regular hoodie huh? Oh but NO! It's called a Hoodie Buddie and the drawstrings that hang from the hood are actually headphones! How freakin cool is that? I guess there's a small headphone jack in the front pocket that plugs into mp3 players/iPods/any cell phone. Then it goes through the drawstrings!

I want one so bad. I saw it the other day on someone's FaceBook and just had to share with all you lovely people. Seeing stuff like this makes me wish I could come up with a cool invention.

That's all I have today for you folks, except one more thing. I wish I could learn to do this

Ta Ta for now my loves :o)

Duck Face

Have you been a victim of the DUCK FACE?

VIA
Yesterday during my lunch break I had to run out to the mall to get something. I saw two teenage girls standing outside of Aeropostale..giggling and acting stupid in their yoga pants and uggs. Like, why the hell aren’t you 2 biddies in school? Then, one of the girls whipped out her Blackberry and proceeded to take a self picture of her and her friend. Duck Face included.

VIA
I’m the type of person that if I see someone doing something idiotic, dumb, or annoying in public, I will walk by them and openly (and loudly) laugh or say something under my breath, but loud enough for them to hear. So, I quacked. I freakin’ quacked in the middle of the mall and then laughed to myself while the girls looked uncomfortable.

I can't stand the duck face people make in photos. During my daily Facebook creep sessions, I come across the duck face at least once a day. Who thinks that looks hot? It makes you look GROSS. No hot girl can get away with duck face.
VIA
Okay, maybe Kimmy K can.
Uh Oh...looks like I was a duck face victim back in the day...

So we all do it. But why? What screams "omg I am so hot look at my lips right meow" about this face?! And better question....why am I seeing GUYS do this! sheesh!

What do you guys think? Hot?...or Not?

Do you help homeless people?

I pick up Kurt everyday on my way home from work because I have to drive through Boston to get home anyway. Plus, picking him up means I don’t have to sit in traffic alone because we can hop in the carpool lane! Woop Woop!

Anywho. About 5 minutes from Kurt’s building, I always see the same homeless kid standing around a traffic light, walking down lanes while we wait for the light to change. He must be about my age, 22, and always has a really sad look on his face and wears sad looking clothes. I can’t help but get wicked sad myself when I see him. I’ve kept snacks that I don’t eat at work and think about giving them to him through the window when he walks by, or giving him my water bottle…but I haven’t yet.

This is where I see him. Fanuel Hall area:

I’ve seen him in blizzards, rainstorms, hot weather, frigid weather, everything. He is ALWAYS there! His sign says “Anything will help. Just Smile.” I always think about this kid (in a non creepy/stalker way of course!) and wonder if he really is homeless. We have all learned that some homeless people really aren’t homeless, but are just being panhandlers.

I’ll never know if this kid really is homeless, but I feel like helping him out some days as I sit in my nice comfortable car, coming from my paying job, going home to a warm house. I guess it just makes me realize how lucky I really am! But it also really makes me think, ya know?

Do you guys help homeless people or ever think about helping them?

Easter weekend food fight

I had a fight with our kitchen on Saturday. Somehow I got put in charge of making dessert for Easter. I went out on Friday night in Providence, RI for my friend’s birthday and got back to our apartment around noon on Saturday ready to be Betty Crocka. I decided to bake THIS CAKE from Hershey’s website. Here it is!

Can we say TRAIN WRECK? Don't worry, I was not chugging that Jagermeister that you see in the background. It happened to be out of the freezer while I was moving stuff around.

First off, I struggled with getting each layer out of the stupid round pan. We won’t even talk about how it got stuck to the bottom of the pan and wouldn’t loosen to come out. There was chocolate, flour, sugar EVERYWHERE! I let the cake cool for about 45 minutes and even put it in the fridge for 20 minutes before I decided to frost it. But as you can see from the TRAIN WRECK picture above, as I started frosting, it just melted off and looked so sad...so I stopped before I even went further.

Kurt went home for Easter so he wasn’t even at the apartment with me to help me. I may have had a mini tantrum, and decided to toss the damn cake and start over…but this time using a regular 9x13 pan. Came out perfect. Then I decided to tackle these guys:

My bunny cake pops! After some frustration with dripping frosting and struggles with the edible ink pens, I think they came out pretty cool.

I brought them over to my house and my mom and dadd wanted to display them on our dining room table. Golden child, right here! haha jk My family and relatives LOVED them! Thank God. And the cake? They devoured it.

My sister was nursing a hangover for most of the day. Nothin' better than having a hangover while your entire family is over, asking question after question about school, boyfriends, life...hahah

I hung outside in our backyard with my mom and aunts while they cooked some of our Easter dins on the grill and enjoyed the gorggg weather and my Kindle!

Then we went and had a big Easter dinner with everyone and stuffed our faces until we were immobile from our food comas. All in all, a great weekend!

Deep thoughts with KE$HA

Thanks to all my loves for their sweet comments yesterday! :o) I literally love all of you. I colored Easter eggs last night and just wanted to show you guys :o)

ignore that pink/yellow one in back..i messed up!
But okay. I have a love/hate relationship with Ke$ha. I love some of her songs, but can't decide if I like her. I think one of my recent favs is her song BLOW. But her? I think she sometimes  tries to comes across as a Gaga/B-Spears/Madonna wannabe.

This video was uploaded the other day and I think it perfectly describes Ke$ha and how psychotic she is! Plus, this girl is basically one of my most favorite girls EVA! I don't know where this girl comes up with her stuff haha Enjoy!

Have a fabulous weekend and Happy Easter!!

Accomplishments

I was having a Debbie Downer day the other day. I got home from work and literally cried myself into an hour long nap while poor Kurt tried to console me. I screamed at him! I started going off about stupid dirty dishes that hadn't been washed, so he went and washed them. I felt terrible. Haven't you ever just had those days!?

I just felt so blah, and when I feel blah, I start picking myself apart, saying what I can do better, what I should do better, etc. I complained to Kurt and said I wasn't going anywhere in life and hadn't accomplished anything cool. Ya, I know..it's a crappy quality to have!

I woke up from my nap and somehow started looking through my photo albums on my computer. I came across one I took last February.

Clearly, that ain't me! But I took it.

At the top of Mt Monadnock in New Hampshire. Yeah, it's not a very known mountain, but it is known as the second most climbed mountain in the world, after Mt. Fuji.

That guy right there, climbed that mountain every single day for 8 years straight. 2,850 days to be exact. Not even kidding you..he climbed it every. single. day. He climbed it during blizzards, hurricanes, thunderstorms, heat waves, you name it, he climbed through it. But one day, he got pneumonia, and his doctor told him if he hiked it one more day, he could die.

via google
Imagine your life after you don't climb that damn mountain? I mean, it was his goal every day..to hike that mountain and touch the marker at the very top. He was defeated. He was angry. But at the same time, a whole new life opened up to him. He could now go on other excursions he had been planning to do, he could now go visit family, go away for a weekend. He wasn't held back by his mountain.

I had the opportunity to interview him and actually climb with him..in freakin' February. I wore a pair of cramp-ons..those spike thingies that clip onto your shoes in case you slip and fall. YIKES! But it was an experience I will never ever forget.

It made me start thinking about my own accomplishments. He inspired me to want to set goals, and accomplish them. I have a few goals in life, but I think they're silly. I want to do some fo real..like somethin' big! I just don't know what yet...but life's too short!

Oh! You guys should tooootally read the article I wrote about Mountain Man..I promise it's pretty interesting and it really makes you wonder about things people do and why they do it. Plus, I wrote it, so why WOULDN'T you want to read it!? haha I'm only jokinnn

What do you guys want to accomplish in life? Do you know yet? Or do you have any plans?

The day I got arrested for smokin' a doobie

I was having bloggers block last night while thinking of topics for today. Am I the only one who plans blog topics the day before? Probably not! I got some super duper ideas from some of my lovely peeps, until I saw this..then I realized I had to share with ya'll.

via
What's that you ask? A rifle? Nope. It's an umbrella. A mall about 45 minutes from my house was on lockdown yesterday, with a SWAT team, 4 helicopters, a bunch of cops, firemen, and everything because of this umbrella. Apparantly, a man walked into the mall with a backpack and this was sticking out of it. He went into the bathroom, and someone called the cops.

via
There's the man and his umbrella!

After the cops were called, the guy left the mall, completely oblivious as to what was going on, and went to work. They were watching the news at his work, and news anchors were talking about the gunman and how he was still in the mall. They showed a surveillance camera of the gunman, and the guy was like HOLY SHIT, that's me! So he called the cops and told them about the mixup. Turns out, the umbrella was some type of Samurai Sword looking umbrella that also looked like a rifle.Yikes! I'd be scared out of my mind, but at the same time, I feel bad for the poor guy...but you can never be too careful right?

Have you guys ever been in a situation like this or witnessed anything similar?

Oh, and to "lighten things up," (pun?!) today is 4/20 aka Pot Day. Am I the only person whose never smoked a doobie in their life? I am proud of myself. Oh and this is probably one of my favorite episodes of Sex and the City. I don't know why this scene has Spanish subtitles though?

I hope my babies are cuter than this

Last night I was watching Bethenny Ever After and pretty much goo goo ga ga-ing over her daughter, Brynn. Holy cuteness! Everytime she comes on the screen, I oooh and aww over how adorable she is and her little smile and her mannerisms...I just can't get enough!

I hope my future baby is cute and has a good personality like her!

Oh, who's that child up there? That's supposedly me and Kurt's future baby boy. Last night I decided to "make my babies," where you put a photo of you and your loved one and it creates a baby boy and/or girl. THATS our baby boy. First off, it doesn't even look like us. Second off, just no.

And there's our daughter! Awww cute...kind of..okay not really that cute, but at least she is cuter than our son. I realize this website is probably completely inaccurate, but it's still fun, and makes me wonder what my kids will look like. This website is so creepy though!

My aunt sent me a photo she found of me when I was a wee one..

haha the sad part is, I still eat the batter from bowls. I hope my little girl looks somewhat like me because I think I was a freakin CUTIE! (minus my Albert Einstein-ish hair) And I hope my son looks like Kurt when he was a baby. I think I've shown you guys this photo before but not sure.

Wasn't he a little cutie!

Do you guys ever wonder what your kids will look like or am I the only sketch ball in da house?

Happy Tuesday!

I had a college weekend

I went back to my old stomping grounds this weekend and it was nostalgic! I went to college up in New Hampshire..pretty much in the middle of nowhere! But I wouldn't change it one bit.

That's a lolipop stick, not a ciggy..but I was keeping entertained on our ride!

My sister is a senior at a different college in New Hampshire...about 20 minutes from my old school. So Kurt and I killed two birds with one stone and headed to visit our college for a bit and then visited her and her friends for the night. We got there and it just happened to be their spring weekend..aka drunk fest. They were playing that "ICED" game. Where you hide Smirnoff Ice's all over the house and if someone grabs one or looks at one unknowingly, they have to get down on one knee and chug it.

Note to all cops and/or stalkers..everyone was 21..so take a chill pill!

My sister asked me to get her a drink from the 30 rack of beer so I went to go grab one of the cans and felt a bottle. So I was like oh there must be a mix of cans and bottles in this box. Nope, it was a Smirnoff Ice. I got ICED. But of course I am a whimpy baby and didn't do it..I can't help it, I can't chug!

One of my old roommates met us up there and we basically just cried (okay not really) but we really missed college! So we went to all the old bars, clubs, everything and I might have had a wee bit too much to drink. We got back to my sister and her roommates apartment at about 2:45 AM and passed out..but I was up at 3:30 feeling uber crappy. I woke Kurt up and made him come into the kitchen where I proceeded to eat Saltine crackers and drink water.

Kurt decided he had to take a picture of my misery
I felt a little better in the morning but just had to laugh at myself because I totally wasn't "college" anymore. Granted, I was always a lightweight, but this beat me up! Drinking all day, and then all night...sheesh! Kurt and I headed back home in the afternoon and really needed some greasy food for lunch. Enter, greasy food from the beach.

Then I dragged Kurt to TJ Maxx and we went into HomeGoods and I decided I needed to buy a mixing bowl.

Then we got home and saw a squirrel eating an onion ring. So gourmet

That's my lil weekend in a nutshell! All in all, it was good to be back in college even though I have graduated and have a full time job..so I'm stuck in the past okay!?! My sister is graduating in 3 weeks so if I ever go back up to visit my college for the night, I'm officially creepy and old so call the cops on me.

How was your weekend!?

Is this lady stupid?

Hi bloggy boo's!

I was on my way to work this morning and listening to the radio. This particular segment, listeners could call in and talk about whatever was happening to them at that moment. So this one lady calls in and talks about this vacation she’s about to go on to get away from work and life. I’m thinking it’s gonna be something like this.

WRONG. This woman could one day be featured in a Lifetime movie. Apparently, she met 2 different guys on the internet…one lives in Colorado, the other in South Dakota. She is flying out to Colorado to meet one of the guys for the first time, and staying with him for a few days. THEN, she is flying to South Dakota to meet the OTHER guy, and will be going on a 3 day backpacking trip through the woods with him.

Um, hello? First of all, can someone please  point to South Dakota on a map for me? I’m pretty sure it’s in East Bum-Fuck (pardon my French and sorry if any of my readers live there!). Why would this lady think it’s a good idea to go backpacking for 3 days in the woods with a STRANGE MAN FROM THE INTERNET! Yikes! I'm judging this woman hardcore

Would you guys do this? I have nothing against people meeting people online, however, shouldn't they start with a lil coffee date or go bowling? I smell a Lifetime movie.

Happy Friday lovers!

PS. No worries to my bloggy babes who I had a 5-way twitter party with last night...I trust that our future slumber party won't be of any concern..except for the amount of alcohol we may consume! :o)
