Gimme more chicken!!

Have you ever gotten a cold/cough/sore throat from a night out? I wasn't licking the bar floor or anything, obviously, but for some reason between dancing up a storm, singing and yelling, I've managed to give myself a 24 hour cold--phooey! However, it was so worth it! I had a fabulous weekend!

Friday night we laid low and got pizza and salads with my parents. Kurt and I then went home and raced to the TV to play Grand Theft Auto. I won. Also, we are so romantic...

I was setting up a heist and needed masks for my guys. I chose piggies!

Saturday, I woke up and spent entirely too much money at the mall. Blame the changing seasons and their new fall lines! That night, my girlfriends and I went into Boston and tore it upppp

We went to two bars in Boston that we wouldn't normally go to, however we felt like gettin' a bit wild if you know what I mean! It was honestly such an amazing, fun time! Always is! :-) We ended the night at this bar/club called The Hong Kong. Let me put it this way. There is a man walking around with a bucket...a legit BUCKET full of chicken and beef teriyaki sticks for just $1. Did you hear that?! It's heaven let me say and I can't deny it when I'm there.

Just so you can visualize the chicken relationship, here's a photo of my sisters boyfriend and I eating the chicken at Hong Kong a few weeks ago. Melts in yo mouth!

Sunday I laid around like a lump on a log, until my friend Liz and I went for Panera and visited my our friend Cristina! For dinner I made a delicious salad:

I usually make this salad once a week and I can bring it to work! It basically consists of Kale, Quinoa, strawberries, tomatoes, dried cranberries, pine nuts, feta cheese and sometimes I add in avocados! Dressing is just olive oil and balsamic vinegar! The flavors are toooooo die for.

My weekend wrapped up with the series finale to Breaking Bad (I WAS SO CONTENT) as well as ...the Patriots dominating the Falcons in the last few minutes. Love it!

Hope you all had the best weekend! Link up with Sami!

Freakin' on a Friday

We've made it to Friday can I get a haaaylll yeah!?! :-) Also, can I get a hayyylll yea for the new iPhone? I have to gloat...only because it's been 3 years since I got a new phone. I've had the iPhone 4 for the past 3 years and lemme tell ya..the 5S is too legit to quit!

Can you tell which one is my new one?! :-)

I am still figuring out the odds ands ends and everything in between; however, so far, so fabulous! I am pretty smitten with the camera, so I figured I would pop the new phone camera cherry and perhaps do a snazzy instagram video! Which reminds me...I've only ever done one video on instagram. Shame on me right? (Follow me @ericamariejordan) We shall see!

In other news, I've been playing Grand Theft Auto V like it's my job. Seriously I cannot put it down. These Gifs have me dying laughing though. I regret to inform myself I still havent found the mime to punch, but I have punched plenty others and also tipped a cow.

Let's back that ass up, shall we? That's what I'll be doing tomorrow night! Having a girls night in Boston---dinner, drinks and dancing! If there's one thing in life I never want to do, is to stop feeling and acting young; you hear me?!

Get Freeeeaky! And link up with Whitney!

Have a great weekend everyone!

You betta treat yo-self before you wreck yo-self

What do you do when one of your favorite bloggers/friends declares a day and weekend all to yourself? You take advantage of it that's for sure!! :-)

My love Shalyn from So Shay had an epiphany one day while soaking her bod in a tub. An entire day to yourself. TreatYoSelf2k13. I took advantage of it--in fact, I took advantage of the entire weekend!

Friday night started with dinner with the family on the water! I normally don't indulge in giant pasta/seafood dishes unless it's necessary, and oh this was necessary don't you think?

Saturday my family and I went to The Big E, which is a big state fair in Springfield, Massachusetts! Since it was treat yo self weekend, I knew I was going to go HAM. And oh, I did....It began with a bacon s'more....at like, 11:30 in the morning--hey, bacon is breakfast food right?!

In fact, my entire family treated themselves. We ate our way through the fair, samples here, kettle corn here, chips/dip there, pizza/lobster rolls/clam chowder; you name it! It was honestly such a fun day I had with the Jordan clan :-)

Sunday morning I woke up wanting to desperately make donuts for myself since I've been craving them. It was time. It was such a nice treat too because normally weekend mornings I don't do anything fancy smancy for breakfast!

Clearly I am no food blogger, as a normal food blogger would most likely clean up the donut machine of those pesky little crumbs! I encourage all of you to treat yourself to this mini-donut maker. $30 at Target HOLLA!

That night Kurt and I went for our weekly long run where I had an unfortunate event. I totally hurt my knee and have been limping like I'm Lil Wayne with a gun in his pocket. "See me walkin' with a limp, that's my gunwalk." (that's a song haha!)

But later that night, Kurt and I decided to pretend we were 5 years old again and swing on the swings!

Kurt treated ME to a delectable dinner that night on the grill! Grilled shrimp, a bunch of veggies and quinoa. Holy yum it was divine. There's nothing better than a charcoal grill, let me tell you

It was nice to take a breather and think about myself for a day/weekend! I didn't question anything I did; if I wanted an extra hunk of cheese at the state fair, I ate it. YOLO, right? I know people hate that acronym ha!

Thank you so much Shay for letting me take a step back and enjoy life without the stresses. You seriously rock!! I loved treating myself and I hope everyone else did too! Next time, I am treating myself to an engagement ring....oh whoops did I say that outloud ;-)

Happy Hump Day Loves!

Little facts about little old me

I am a pretty nosy person. I love asking questions, finding out weird habits/quirks/talents of people, don't you?! :-) I thought these questions were fun so I decided to share---a little peak inside my life!

What side of bed do you sleep on?
Does the entire bed count? Literally I'll wake up and poor Kurt is hanging off the bed. However, I go to bed sleeping on the right side. If you are standing at the foot of the bed looking towards the headboard, I'm on the right---except for those nights where I just can't handle one side and need both :-)

Goofy holding my spot ;-)

What's a song you secretly love to blast?
Defying Gravity. I am a HUGE broadway fan. Like, huge. I have seen many broadway shows, plays, musicals etc. However, my favorite soundtrack would have to be WICKED. If I am ever feeling sad or down, especially while I'm driving, I will blast this song and sing every lyric and spoken word!

Do you have any weird body skills?
I've blogged about this before....and videod it to music for some reason?! I have really fast pinky fingers--they just move so quick and I amaze myself and others. Maybe I just have weird joints.

If you could only have one sandwich ever again, what would be on it?
Oh man...thankfully I have a big mouth to be able to fit this all in:
--Bread (toasted)
--Basil Pesto
--Sundried Tomato Pesto
--Mozzerella Cheese
--Spinach
--Tomato
--Prosciutto
--Squeeze of lemon
--Black Pepper

(Mine will NOT be from Subway haha!!)

Happy Tuesday friends!

This post was typed at 3:00 AM

Holy Bajoley...it's currently 2:45 in the morning and I'm typing on my blog. No I am not drunk. I am about to order the new iPhone 5S! It's been a long time coming and I have been waiting and waiting and debating what I want, and finally have decided on the pretty silver one!

^Ain't that the truth? That happened to me last year. I wanted the 5 but a week later I heard about the 5S announcement the next year, so it just went around and around and around.

Man I'm tired and I don't even know if I'm typing coherently. My friend Ryan and I vowed to text/call/send smoke signals to eachother at 2:45 to wake up and order this damn phone. I contemplated being one of the weirdos who went to the store and bought it, but that would have meant I had to be there at 3am when the store doesn't open until 8! Apple, why are you such popular demand?

Last night I made the most delectable tomato soup from the blog Eat Yourself Skinny. You all need to go make this TONIGHT! It is heavenly, so easy to make and is healthy. I paired it with a grilled cheese/tomato/spinach sangy too :-)

While on the topic of food, here's something unhealthy I ate this week...Wednesday was National Cheeseburger Day, so naturally my co-workers and I celebrated! We also celebrate bacon day and the upcoming Guacamole day.

That's a cheese burger with pepper jack cheese and spicy salsa. Oh My Lanta! It's from Wild Willy's; their burgers, fries and homemade rootbeer are a MUST.

Now that I've made myself hungry in the middle of the night which is never good, I have to remind you lovelies about something! One of my favorite people in blog land, miss ShayBayBay, aka So Shay, is hosting her "Treat Yourself" day today, September 20th! Treat yourself to ANYTHING because yes, you do deserve it!

I love this little muffin!
I should treat myself to a flight back to Texas!!!

Head over to her blog to hear more about a day dedicated to just you!
Happy weekend my friends!

Barefoot Running

Is it acceptable to post about your weekend on a Wednesday?! I hope so because that's what I think I am going to do right now! The past few days have been super busy at work and with life so, this poor little space has taken the backseat for the past two days!

I suppose after racking my brain about what the heck I actually did this weekend, the main thing was Kurt and I ran a 10k on Sunday...whomp whomp. Actually not really whomp whomp, but I thought I did more than that ha!

Last week I told you all that Kurt and I were running in a Disney Half Marathon (so damn excited!!). Since we had never run a half before, we didn't have a proof of time to get placed in a higher starting point at the race; we were automatically put into the last corral which was fine, but it was going to take a lot of maneuvering around the walkers. We researched and found that if we did a 10k and sent in our times to Disney, we could get placed higher in the starting line--so that's what we did!

It was seriously such a gorgeous course along the water in Gloucester, MA....if you've seen The Perfect Storm movie, that's where it takes place! While the race went well, I still need to touch on something.

Who are the barefoot runners and better yet, why the F are you running barefoot?!
Not those funky toe shoe things...literally barefoot as in bare feet touching concrete

There was a guy in front of us for quite a while who was running barefoot and it looked like he was running while shitting his pants---aka running very awkwardly. I happened to catch his bib number and found him in the results. 39 minute 10K...barefoot..how? #Baffled Does that enhance running?

Regardless, Kurt and I finished in 1 hour which we were pleased with! We then gorged on orange peels, bagels, bananas, granola bars and other delicious foods they had for us at the end.

Currently my calves feel like they were injected with rocks, cement, boners and other hard things. Note to self, must stretch better before racing :-)

Happy Hump Day!
I'm going to sleep at my desk now...I was up way too late playing the new Grand Theft Auto. OY!

If I could date a rapper....

So it's nothing new I love rap music. I hear a rap song and it's immediately time to get jiggy no matter what (except at work I try to just pop and lock my shoulders silently at my desk).

I was going through my playlists and really started thinking. If I was ever hot/cool/chill/ill/awesome enough to date a rapper, who the heck would I date? Let's be serious...I wouldn't date Lil Wayne; I'd husband him up so I'm leaving him out of this list...he's a given.

It's funny...my taste in rappers differs completely than who I'm dating. People look at Kurt and think tall, preppy, skinny, reserved. And then they see who I'm into as far as music crushes and well, you know.

A$AP Rocky
We might discuss
Is that grill 14K gold?
Why are you so young and hot?
Does anyone ever say you have nice lips?

Future
We might discuss
Did you know Lil Wayne also has dreads?
Can I pull on them?
Can I cut one off?
50 Cent
We might discuss
How does your face constantly look sexy?
Do you regret losing 70 pounds and looking terrible for 5 minutes?
Can I see your 9 bullet wounds
Can you take me to your candy shop?

And because it's Back That Azz Up Friday
I really just need to share this song I've been playing over...and over...and over.
OBSESSED. New T-Pain featuring B.O.B. IT IS A JAM!!

A DisneyWorld Half Marathon...freakout starts now

You guys! I have some exciting news. Actually, you may not think it's as exciting as I do, but it's something I've been thinking about for the last few years and I'm finally doing it.

I'm running my first half marathon in November...AND it's in Disney World!

Specifically it's called the Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon!

It should come as no surprise that Kurt and I are Disney freaks. If it was normal, we would build our future house to look like the Cinderella castle (ok maybe not that extreme). We do love it though, and try to go at least once a year! This time, it's going to be an extra special memory :-)

Back during my junior year of college, Kurt and I were in Disney World in January during the Disney Marathon weekend. It crossed my mind "wow, running through the Disney parks would be so much fun," but I was no runner. Up until about a year ago, I couldn't even run 5 minutes without feeling like I was going to pass out.

Last year I found myself talking to one of my co-workers who lives in Scotland. He is a triathlon competitor, runner, biker and an all around athlete! I expressed my wish for being able to run and he developed a running/workout plan for me that I followed and soon enough I was running 45 minutes without stopping; it was AMAZING. I felt accomplished and confident in myself for once when it came to running.

I started researching the Disney races. Honestly, how can you not want to run through the Disney parks? My research of the Wine and Dine Half Marathon happened to intertwine with Kurt and I planning our next trip---November 2013. I brought it up to him and he was all for it; all for ME running it, while he cheered me along. I was okay with that, but I really wanted to do this together with him. After a few weeks of pouting and pleading and saying "BUT WE CAN DRESS UP!!" he finally agreed.

So here we are! Around two months until we both run our first half marathon. I am nervous, worried, freaking out, but more than anything, over the moon excited!

The Wine and Dine half marathon takes place during the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. Oh did I mention this race doesn't start until 10:00pm at night!? After we run, it ends with a party in Epcot that goes until 4:00AM! It will be interesting---considering I have never run at night before. However, we run through Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Epcot with tons of entertainment and Disney characters along the way to keep you going!

I AM JUST SO EXCITED!!!!
Have any of you ever run a Disney race before?!

Weddings make me cry!

Whoa little blog....I've been cheating on you with life lately and haven't had an ounce of time to come play with you! Fear not, I am back.

I am flipping exhausted, people. I've been running myself ragged since Thursday! Thursday night my friend and I drove down to Queens, NY for a wedding weekend! One of my best friends' friends from college got married and let me say, it was one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever seen.

A few photos to tickle your fancy!

Isn't she a gorgeous bride?!? This wedding set the bar hiiiiigh! I mean, the bride and groom made their entrance into the reception by rising from the dance floor. What the what!? It was a constant dance party and let's just say, thank God she bought out the entire black and white flip flop center from Old Navy for the guests! I also realized weddings make me cry. I cried during the father daughter dance, the groom and mother dance, the toasts, the church, the send-off, etc.

Being in a 7 year relationship also doesnt make it any easier, which was evident by the tipsy texts I sent Kurt throughout the night sort of like "when are we getting married?" "When's it our turn?" Yikes Erica, step awayyyy from the cellphone.

After the ceremony, the group proceeded to the hotel bar until 3am to get our drink on. It was such a fun time and made me really wish I could go to more than 1 wedding a century! I feel like some people get so cranky that they have to go to many weddings a year, but I honestly don't think I could get sick of it! We are celebrating a new chapter in someones life!

But really Kurt, when's our turn?
How was your weekend?!
