Do we compliment people enough!?

At the gym a couple days ago, I saw a girl with a really cool braid in her ponytail. It was basically something I could never do on my own. Let's be honest, Kurt has to clip in my hair extensions when I wear them.

Kurt those are mine; take them off.
also this is BEYOND hideous

I caught her as she was leaving the treadmill and I told her I absolutely loved her braid. It was as if she was blown away and couldn't believe I said I liked it. She was so appreciative and said she loves trying new things in her hair but that no one ever notices!!

I was Facebook creeping last night and came across
a STELLER video about giving/receiving compliments.

This group called Soul Pancake hit the street and set up a
phone booth of sorts, and a big set of headphones.

One person stands in the booth, the other between
the headphones and you give and receive compliments, then switch.

It was so flipping inspiring I basically cried. You have have have have to watch it!!

I couldn't help but think of the braid girl, and complimenting people in general.
Do we do it enough? Do you? Do I?!
I mean, I get daily compliments on the size of my boobs

(kidding!)

But really. I think giving compliments are important
It shows someone you care, and are noticing them
And I'm not talking about being Regina George all
"I love that bracelet!"
turns away....
"That bracelet is disgusting"

I mean REAL compliments!
Because it made me feel pretty dang good to know that the braid girl was so happy to hear that!

The video has inspired me.
Do you ever get the feeling we don't compliment people enough?

My Red Lips be Poppin

Warning, this is random
It's Friday.
Remember this!?

When I was younger I was definitely one of those girls who snuck into her mom's lipstick and smeared it all over my lips face. Hot, I tell ya.

The past year or so, red lips have just gone wild. Girls all over the world have been sporting this, and I sat there with my pinkish lipgloss, scared to try the red look fearing I'd look like a rabid animal with blood all over.

It hit me one day a few weeks ago while I was perusing Ulta.
I needed red lipstick and I needed it then. So I bought some.

Get it. NOW!!

I never consider myself as someone who knows makeup
Seriously.
As much as I'd love to learn why some people put 10 products on their face BEFORE makeup...
I just never have time to go all crazy!
Except for when I'm hittin' the town, then I'll go big.
Bust out the fake lashes

But back to my point!
Are you supposed to wear lip liner with lipstick?
That's a serious question.
Because sometimes I can't get it on all of my lips; they're so big and luscious (kidding)

The other thing about red lipstick?
It shows in pictures.
Like, really good
Good as in blurry iPhone pics good
Good as in not looking like I have lip colored lipstick

What's your favorite red lipstick? I'd like suggestions!
Were you scared to pop the red lipstick cherry?
Happy Weekend!

That time I spent 30 dollars on something 3 inches tall

If you've ever met me in person or been to my house/apartment, you would know I have one stuffed animal that I am obsessed with.

Actually, let's be clear. I'm 24 and still sleep with MULTIPLE stuffies. I can't part with them, nor will I. I mean, I'm sure Kurt wouldn't like them on our bed in years to come, so right now most are on our headboard but some sneak into the bed. Little sneaks.

When I was around 2, my mom went to Florida with her friends and came back with a Disney Goofy stuffed animal. He became my favorite Disney character, and still is today. I love my Goof.

Back to the point of this. Is there really a point? Probably not but I need to document my insaneness.

I feel like I should show you my 22 year old Goofy so you get the visual. Here he is.

He's been through a LOT. And by a lot, I mean it looks like I innaprporiately touch him daily. Which, I don't! But, after having him for 22 years, his crotch has ripped, he has lost some of his stuffing, and even his hat...but he's still my little muffin!

So a few weeks ago, I was perusing Instagram. I follow a few Disney instagrams and came across this photo and my heart just about MELTED.

I needed/wanted/would sell my soul to have this little figurine.
So I hired some friends to research him and find out how I could get him.
A few days and countless hours of creeping, I found him on a French ebay site.
He was made in Singapore, but the seller was in France.
And to make matters worse, the seller shipped everywhere in the universe,
freaking Uzbekistan included, except for the United States.

So I took matters into my own hands,
contacted my co-worker friend who lives/works in Scotland
had baby Goofy shipped to him,
who then shipped it to ME in little old Boston!

Oh, might I also add he is 3 inches tall,
and cost 22 Euros
Which is about 30 US dollars
10$ an inch? Sure why not?
College loans, you can just wait a hot minute, OKAY??

But honestly, how adorable is he!
Have you ever bought something rediculous?
