Dat Knee, Disney - A hodge podge of random

When you have to look through your cell phone pictures to see what the hell you've been up to the last few months, that's when you know your life is passing by too fast. Do y'all even remember what I look like?
Here I am!

I pride myself in knowing and remembering important things like events, birthdays, good sales at Ann Taylor, but lately I've just sucked at it. I mean, I completely forgot one of my guilty pleasure shows, Chrisley Knows Best, was coming back on TV. Lately I've felt distance from everyone and everything and I hate that! I even lied to my doctor yesterday when she asked if I was experiencing any 'stress, pressure or tension' and to be honest, I am! So in an effort not to be a sap-fest, I'm not going to dwell on it anymore and completely divert this blog post into something else for right now

Here are 4 things on my mind as I sit here watching the Patriots turn the Jets' tight ends into wide receivers.

1.  When humans were created, why couldn't our knees be easier to tackle while using a deadly weapon (razor) on them?

2. I feel really naughty when I can't wear underwear with certain clothes I wear to work. It's not that I'm actively seeking these clothes to feel freedom, but who wants to see exactly what's on underneath! Not I. I am also 5 years old and can't hold professional face-to-face conversations with someone without thinking to myself "DO THEY KNOW?? CAN THEY TELL?"

3. I'm currently reading a book called Shucked about a girl who up and left her awesome Boston columnist job and moved to a seaside town by me to work on an Oyster farm for 18 months. I am kiiiiind of inspired. I mean, I love oysters, I own Hunter Boots, and I don't mind getting down and dirty.

4. If I was a professional athlete and scored a goal / touchdown / hole in one, my victory dance would most definitely be The Soulja Boy. Specifically the "crank that" part. What would yours be?

Looking forward to being back writing all sorts of nonsense about my life as of late.
Also, Friday, you've been missed.

Duck Tour or....Suck Tour: Playing tourist in your own city

Tomorrow I'm doing something I've never done before, but should have. In my 25 years I've lived in the Boston area, I've never once done a duck tour! Can you believe that? I was actually chatting with a friend the other day about it and my phone kept autocorrecting it to "Suck Tour." Can you imagine what that would entail? Lots of....sucking....lollipops?

If you don't know what a duck tour is, it's basically a big car / bus that drives around giving a tour of Boston and THEN, it drives into the water and gives a tour of the city via the Charles River! Sorry; Chahles Rivah!! All the while, you're quacking and quacking and quacking and to be honest, people who live here get quite annoyed by it!! ;-) However, it's one of those things you just have to do, and I'm finally doing it tomorrow.

It's kind of fun playing tourist in your own city. I really need to do it more often whether it be exploring a new area, trying a new restaurant, walking through Boston alone just meeting new people. The best thing about Boston is it's a walking city. If you've never been here before, you can do all the major things in one day. And if you do live here, well, you can get from one end of the city to the other in one day and stop for drinks, sights, shopping and a duck tour! ;-)

My friend Liz.... her two good friends from college are visiting Boston for the weekend and I can't wait, as I really enjoy hanging out with them! We are headed to this really cool bar Saturday night called Howl at the Moon; it's basically a dueling piano bar! By the end of the night, you really are howling at the moon (drunk).

I frequent this place a lot with my co-workers and I've requested everything from N*Sync to Pitbull to Dr Dre to Weezy. They really play EVERYTHING imaginable. Except I've requested Bandz a Make Her Dance on multiple occasions and still have yet to hear it...

And because it's Friday and I haven't backed my ass up in some time now, I suppose I should! I have been recently jamming the F out to this song and I can't stop. I also can't help it because it's Lil Wayne, and we all know how I feel about that sexy swagalicious piece of meat. I may just request him tomorrow night. Actually I know I totally will!

What are you up to this weekend?
Have you done a duck tour before?

I MET DRAKE!

This past weekend, two of my girlfriends and I decided to go out for some food and drinks in Boston--it had been a while!

So this particular night, we hit up Jerry Remy's on the waterfront in Boston. It's a really cool sports bar with tons of dude bros and desperate girls looking for a one-nighter. Nothing wrong with that, but it provides for excellent people watching.

I see this guy at the bar with what looks like his shirt from elementary school...tight as tight can be, to show off his bulging muscles of course. We immediately stare because really, that is just ridiculous! His friend catches us and dares Haley to go up and ask him if he is wearing a size smedium shirt. AKA, a small/medium. Of course, she obliges and he admits that he wears tight shirts. Okay man, we can respect your honesty! Had to get a pic....

As we're chatting with the smedium guy and some of his friends, they wave over their other friend and my eyes go CRAZY! I had to do a double take because I swore I was looking at Drizzy Drake the rapper. I snuck a picture.

That wasn't enough. I told his friend I needed a photo with him because he looked like Drakes twin. His friend rolled his eyes, letting me know he gets this everywhere he goes. HEY! It's not often I see a rapper. We were starstruck. I scouted the bar just to be sure Lil Wayne or Rick Ross weren't an ear shot away.

I said "Do a Drake face"
Tell me this doesn't look like him??

Every time a Drake song came on at the bar, he went into character. He even did the Drake hands!

If this is how I react when a look alike celeb is nearby, can you imagine a real life one?

Pool Parties, Rallying Hard and Proposals (( Vegas Part 2 ))

Part two! I don't want this to end :-(

When Sabrina mentioned the idea of hitting up some Las Vegas pool parties, I'm pretty sure we all said yes before she even finished the question.

Please note our room! hahahah

Day two of our trip began with the Encore Beach Club pool party at the Encore hotel! We got there and after taking it all in for the first 5 minutes thinking, holy crap, we decided to hit the bar! The pool was HOPPING! DJ blaring music, girls in skimpy bikinis, cabanas, beds, stripper poles, you name it.

Our sweet little Shalyn actually ended up befriending these two adorable girls who let us hang out with them in their "pool bed!" They were SO unbelievably sweet and we all bonded really well with the two of them! How cute are they? We actually ended up meeting up with them that night too! They were visiting from Orange County!

Then we met some foreign eye candy, one of them being a fitness model!! Shay made it perfectly clear that she was a married lady in the group pic!!! Yeah DDHP! :-)

After Encore Beach Club, we headed back to our room for a quick change and decided to hit the strip for some sightseeing, shopping and food! I'll tell ya...Vegas may be mostly gambling, clubs, glitz and glam, but it sure is gorgeous!

That night, we hightailed it to a SEXY club called XS! It was amazing...and there was a famous DJ there--Diplo? I had only knew one of his songs but he was unreal! The club had lots of blackjack tables so I had to press my luck. This night I apparently thought I was Lil Wayne because I was betting 100$ hands. I am thankful for the guy next to me who pressured me into doing that because I was $280 richa! Holler!

This particular night involved lots and lots of dancing, a man telling me my flats looked like house-slippers/moccasins but that I was smart to be wearing then, a dancing little person who flipped off Shalyn but then danced for her, and lots and lots of fist pumping! Seriously one of the FUNNEST nights! We still talk about this night.

Day 3...we hit up another pool party, Daylight, at Mandalay Bay. Top-Notch--it was gorgeous! I could go to that pool party every weekend. Maybe that's a stretch, but we had such a blast there and met the CUTEST little bachelor party. Don't worry, half of them were married and they weren't creepers. We loved them!

GUY FIERI???!!

This next picture was minutes after we found out that Steph and Beau were having a GIRL!! We texted them this picture and a video that I'm still scared to watch because I think we were both crying in it hahahah

We had an...interesting night this night. One of us, thou shall not be named, partied a little hardy at the pool party (rhyme!) and had a 3 hour nap and when we woke her to get ready, she said she was probably going to stay in that night and sleep. The rest of us did what any other amazingly awesome friend would do and said, "okay, feel better love!"

PSYCH!! We said get your sexy booty up and put on some clothes we are going OUT!!!! And oooooooh that girl...she rallied hard and we love her for that!

We went to a crazy cool club at the Cosmopolitan called Marquee and actually met up with the bachelor party we met at Daylight! They were continuing their festivities at a table outside that came with its own hot tub!

Ashley....you are a ghost in this picture hahaha!

As you see, Ashleigh met up with us again that night and we were so happy! Ash, we loved you so much and couldn't stop talking about you!  She's a girls girl, looks out for everyone, someone you can talk about ANYTHING with, and someone who can still turn down for what! We seriously loved meeting you so much and I'm also pretty sure I've also begged her multiple times to come visit me...right Ashleigh!?!

We headed back to our room that night with sadness in our eyes...it was our last night! And none of us wanted it to end :-( It almost didn't end because I almost lived in Vegas forever because I was proposed to in our lobby by a Frenchman!

He apparently saw me earlier in the night, and then again at the Bellagio. We are walking back to our room and we hear footsteps of someone running and when we turned around, it was that guy. He said it was fate that he saw me twice and needed to propose. Sabrina gave him her ring and he said:

Will you marry me? Would you like to spend the weekend together?
(LOL)

He settled for a hug and a European kiss (the cheek kiss hahah). At least I can say I sort of got engaged in Vegas?

I'm already sad to write this next part because it means we were leaving each other :-( We woke up our last day and went for a nice lunch outside! We reminisced about our trip and what we loved the most. It was hard, y'all! I did NOT want to leave these girls that I love so much!  After lunch, we headed to the Las Vegas Sign to get the much needed photo to end our trip with a bang!

Ashley was the first one to leave which sucked because she had an early flight BUT...her flight ended up getting delayed so she could have hung with us for 3 hours longer! Southwest...we hated you!

Then there were 4...Rissy, Sabrina, Shalyn and I had quite a few hours to go so we decided to lounge by the Bellagio pool before we headed to the airport around 6pm! That pool...it is absolutely GORGEOUS! And even though we had a lot to drink that weekend, we needed to have just oneeee tiny little drink because, Viva Las Vegas!

We made friends with the Bell Hop who let us into the luggage room to see where they keep bags! Of core we needed to pose on the luggage cart haha!

AND THEN! Ashleigh came back to us one last time because she loves us so much! Actually, it was half because we had an extra bottle of vodka that we gave to her hahahaha! But an Ashleigh sandwich was in order!

And then...we made the sad trip to the airport and chowed down on chips/salsa/burritos on the airport floor while we charged our phones and tried to delay our departure :-(

Agh!! It was hard to leave ALL of these girls!

I took my sad plane ride back to Boston but first, ate a sad lunchable at 11pm in the airport.
Sad... :-(

About an hour before boarding, an older woman started violently puking in our gate's trash. Lovely! Then she luckily disappeared, until I went into the bathroom and heard her dry heaving it up in this bitch.

Well, Vegas..you were SO good to us! Thank you so much for letting some of my favorite girls and I play in your city all weekend! Love them so much and am already looking forward to the next trip, which by the way, is in the works!

A video will be forthcoming...I haven't looked at all the footage yet but I'm scared.... :-D

Vegas, we love you!
