Saw it, Pinned it, Did it----A load of Valentine's Day ISH!

Some of you may or may not know this, but after Christmas and my birthday, Valentine's Day is my absolute FAVORITE holiday.

I understand the bitter animosity people have towards Valentine's Day because some "don't have a Valentine," but think about it. Valentine's day is for love ALL around! Love on a friend, a family member, a co-worker! And even though you should be loving these people every day, it's fun to have a day specially catered to love...and so when that day comes around every February 14, I take full advantage of it!

This week for Saw it, Pinned it, Did it, I went bat shit crazy. I decided I wanted to make all my fabulous co-workers cute little Valentine's Day thaaaangs. And thaaangs are what I made.

Wanna seeeee?

Literally you guys, these were all SO easy!

First things first, pretty marshmallows on a stick. All ya need are marshmallows, pretty sticks, pink candy melts and a plethora of sprinkles and VOILA!

Then you can put them in little baggies with ribbon!

Next, was these little starburst packets
with the cutest saying,
"I'm bursting with happiness that you are my friend!"
All ya need are little baggies
Starbursts
And the little quote card I got from Better Homes and Gardens.com
Package it all up, staple the quote, and you're done!
Plus, how flipping cute is it? Damn you Pinterest.

And then....
I'm losing breath here thinking about how I did all of this without temper tantrums
Well, there may have been 1 or 2
but I shocked myself!

These little shovels with baggies of jelly beans
and it says "I Dig You"
Ummmmm okay this was just like holy shit I need to make those
I picked up the shovels from I-Party for 1 dolllaa each.
A dolla make me holla! And oh, I holla'd when I finally found them
Then I added those heart stickers, tied a baggie full of jelly beans to them, and I'm diggin' it.
I got the little I Dig You tags from the original pin

And fiiiiinaallly....

How can you go wrong with cake batter rice kris pie treats?
shaped like a heart....
with melted chocolate..
and sprinkles

This is self explanatory ain't it?
I made rice kris pie treats, but added 1/3 cup of dry cake batter
for a lil extra ZING
and holy hell it adds some zing!
Then you just cut it out with a heart cookie cutter...
dip it into pink chocolate...
sprinkle yummy goodnesss
and you've got yourself a heart krispie that will make your heart thump thump thump!

Well there you have it! A big old Valentine's Day lovie dovie yummy sweetness post!

Link up with Stephy and Katie for Saw it, Pinned it, Did it!!!

I hope you all have a fabulous day and I mean it when I say I LOVE you all!

Happy Love Day!

A weekend with the girlies!

Two of my friends and I are constantly talking about vacations. Let's go to Europe! Let's go to Disney! Let's take a random weekend away somewhere!----okay, that's more do-able.

A few weekends ago, we decided to venture off to Portsmouth NH, a little gem of a town for a girls weekend; it was Ah-Mazing and definitely much needed!

Our day began with a make your own Bloody Mary bar. I'm not a bloody mary girl...however, I was BLOWN AWAY by all the shit that was at the bar! Peppers, onions, prosciutto , cucumbers, pickles, celery, and soooo much more. I was the loser who had to get a peach bellini or 3. Needless to say, it was only noon and we were buzzed and had no food in our system. Girls weekend was off to a fantastic start!

We finally got some food in our system at the Portsmouth Brewery which was DELICIOUS! And...more drinks. A little shopping and site-seeing was in our future before heading back to the hotel to shower and get ready for dinner and bar hopping.

The best thing about going away with this ladies is that no matter what the situation is, we always have the best time. For example, our waitress at dinner was a biiiiiiiit of a weirdo. I really can't describe it except it was one of those people where whenever they walk away, you all look at each other like--did that really happen? Did she just say that?

Needless to say, she told us Gisele Bunchun was a witch. As in, a real life witch. I tell ya...odd odd odd.

We had THE BEST time. And let me just say...we came up with a  30 before 30 friends Bucket List to complete. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard coming up with some of the shenans we came up with. I am so excited to share them with all of you as they happen!!

We ended the weekend with a yummy breakfast in a perfect little coffee shop overlooking the streets of Portsmouth. Probably one of the best banana nut muffins in my life. I also realized I need to learn to like coffee, as in my friends couldn't stop raaaaving over the coffee. Note to self---drink cawfeee.

What sort of things do you do for girls weekend or girls trips?

I survived 3 feet of white stuff

Last week, we were all busy bee's at work when I decided to routinely check the weather. When I do this during the winter, I usually check a variety of places just to make myself depressed. I always check Florida first, then it's usually Texas, Bermuda, and to make myself feel a liiiiittle better, I check Canada.

On this particular day, I see something that says BLIZZID!! A blizzy is coming, a blizzy is coming; and it could produce record snowfall. At this point, everyone's all psshhh whatever, we hear this crap all the time and then get absolutely nothing. Fast forward to Friday night into Saturday afternoon and we wake up to this.

That would be the street where our apartment is. Covered with THREE FEET OF SNOW!!

Friday night around 10pm, the lights started to flicker
Kurt and I looked at each other and were all No....Don't....Please Don't..
At 10:30, lights out, power out, heat OUT, Kurt and Erica OUT!
We woke up to a 50 degree apartment and frozen nips---and not the alcoholic ones

My parents house still had power, so the plan was to be rescued by mama and sissy
Dad chose the best weekend to go away ice fishing with friends
My mom disagreed...

We had to wait a bit for them to shovel themselves, so Kurt had a genius idea
"If we heat pots of boiling water, it will heat the kitchen....and us"
So we did...

We had to hike down the street for my mom and sister to pick us up,
....but we finally made it to my parent's house

We ate grilled cheese
Drank hot cocoa
Drank cran vods
Ate pizza
Played Wii
Built a fort.
Heart=Happy

I love snow.
I really do
I mean, living in New England you sorta have to
Except when shoveling you hurts my back like a lil bishy.
So, snow, you are beautiful, and feel free to come by anytime!

How was your weekend!?
