Something awkwardly awesome taking you into the weekend

I'm not sure if it's the swimming attire or the fact that this guy has the longest ass, but I can't help but bop my head and smile when I watch this video and hear this song.

Hopefully I'll dance to this song at one point this weekend. Happy Weekending!

An incident with an elderly person

Something really crappy and saddening happened the other day while I was at the grocery store. I was in the frozen food aisle looking for one of my FAVORITE Lean Cuisine meals (Lemon Pepper Fish...holy crap..try it) and I saw an 80-ish year old man at the other end of the aisle in one of those motorized scooters.

He was having the hardest time keeping the freezer door open while trying to maneuver his upper body to find a frozen meal he wanted. FOUR people walked by and did not help him. I wanted to cry!

I went over and asked if he needed any help. He smiled and said,

"no, I'm okay...but whoever brought you up, go home
and give them a hug because they did a great job."

I could have died on the spot! It made me happy. So I continued to look for my meal, and finally found it waaaay in the back. As I turned to go check out, I saw him struggling again on the other side of the aisle.

I went and held the door open for him and we ended up having a 10 minute conversation about the Smart One's frozen chicken pot pie versus the Lean Cuisine Shrimp Scampi dish. He swore that the Chicken Pot Pie was the best frozen meal out there. I held up my Lemon Pepper Fish and said no way, this is the best. It amazed me just how much a simple conversation like that could make someone so happy.

He was excitedly telling me about how his microwave at home wasn't that good so he needed to find frozen meals that could handle his old microwave. Then he told me how when he couldn't cook for himself anymore, how much he loved sampling all the different frozen meals. It was so cute. He bid me goodbye and I watched him scoot down the aisle towards the deli meat counter where he said he was going to get some bologna and cheese. Seriously, HOW CUTE?

I grew up with my grandparents and watched them get older, and watched them continuously say "No, I don't need help, I can do it." Though it might be a pride thing, or they might not want to appear vulnerable, I still think it's respectful to help out elderly people.

I felt good helping this man, even though he didn't ask for it. To be honest, it really brightened my day!

So help those oldies! You're gonna be one of them one day! ;-)

Went to Texas, rode a bull, and met some fabulous girls!

Y'all..I had the most AMAZING weekend in the entire world. Wanna know why?!

Friday morning I hopped a plane to Austin, Texas to see the sweet, gorgeous, awesome miss Shalyn and Sabrina! Seeing them in the airport with a sign that said "Howdy Erica" made me KNOW it was going to be an awesome weekend...and it was!

Ugh...can I go back tomorrow please?

Not only did I meet Shay and Sabrina..but another familiar face joined us for lunch on Friday..anyone recognize this pretty girl?!

Jenni! From Story of My Life! Girrrl you so gangsta!

Jenni...you are so so sweet and probably the teeniest person in the world! I am so glad to have finally met you after stalking your blog for so long!

Visiting these girls really opened my eyes to how AMAZING blogging is. Seriously..they were exactly how I pictured them: adorable, sweet, friendly, loving, and so.much.fun! We had a blast!

And...we made sweatshirts. And they say GO BLOG OR GO HOME. We really are that cool and I love it!

Shalyn and her hubby Drew (Drew Drew Hot Pants) made us feel so so welcome. They are the definition of true love..and probably the cutest couple I have ever seen. Shay really hit the lottery with this man!

While in Texas, I had a sexual experience with a bull. I don't know what got into me...maybe it was the fact that I had never ridden a mechanical bull, or because of a couple cranberry vodkas, or because Shay and Sabrina told me I'd do good on the bull, but I found myself hoppin all up on that thang!

 My Bull! during the day!

The guy controlling it was making it vibrate and jerk all around..gettin a rise outta the crowd! It was SO fun! I am so glad I did it...Shalyn has the video...and I'm not sure I'm ready to let you all watch my ass jiggle.

If you ever get the chance to meet a blogger, seriously do it! I am so glad I did..even though I was scared to get on that airplane alone...it was worth every single fear I had to be able to meet Sabrina and Shalyn. I feel like I've known them for YEARS and we didn't stop talking and laughing all weekend! I am so excited to see them again. I fell in love with Texas, and these awesome ladies!
