Girls, why do we do this? Am I the only one?

Confession: When Kurt and I started dating 4 years ago, and he'd sleep over my dorm room, (scandalous!) I'd get out of bed before him, and put on some makeup or something to make it look like I woke up looking like a smokin' hot goddess.

I had a sorta epiphany yesterday when I went to go put on makeup to go to the beach. I was mid-mascara when I was like, why the HELL am I putting on makeup to go to the beach...ALONE for that matter?! I had no one to impress at the beach. Not even the 15 year old guidos drinking bitch drinks.

Okay okay, so I still went on and continued applying makeup. But it got me thinking...

Last week, Kurt and I's water tank wasn't working so we had to call a guy to come and fix it. He called me and said he'd be here in 10 minutes to fix it. I was still in my pink sweatpants that has a hole in the butt, and one of Kurt's white tees. I bolted off the couch and changed into shorts and a shirt, brushed my hair, and made myself look presentable as if I was expecting to get lucky with the water heater guy (he was about 70...not my cup of tea!)

I can't tell you how many times I've been getting ready, putting on makeup and doing my hair, when Kurt peeks his little head in the room and asks why I am putting "that stuff" on my face, or says my hair looks fine (when it really looks like i've been in 1000 degree heat just frizzing up). I usually get annoyed and say something like "because I just DO! otherwise I'll look like a sloth who sits on her ass all day eating food and becoming a fatty bo batty pants!"

I don't know if its just that guys don't understand, or if girls are just weird like that. While I do enjoy those days where I don't put on makeup or do my hair, sometimes I just like to so that people don't judge me!

Do you ever find yourself doing this? Getting "ready" for pointless reasons? I think it's just part of being a girl!

My weekend consisted of beaches, drinks, and drag queens

This weekend I celebrated the 4th of July in Provincetown, MA. Oh, not sure what Provincetown is? Well, for starters, it's on the VERY TIP of Massachusetts. Seen here!!

And for seconds, it's one of the biggest gay communities in the US. The fam and I have been going here for a while because the beaches are great, there are a ton of awesome restaurants and shops, and we can get there by our boat!

Oh, and there are a lot of awesome sights to see...like drag queens, and EXTREMELY hot, muscular, juicy, delicious (but gay unfortunately) men.

We ended up meeting a guy at a bar who was in Provincetown for the weekend by himself, just broken up with his boyfriend. He wanted to take Kurt, my sister, her boyfriend , and I to this club. My sister and I were like HELL YEAH. The guys? A little iffy. Especially after we were told it had The Macho Room, which consisted of men in nothing but leather and underwear. We walk into the club, and my sister and I are the only girls in there. Then a guy told me I had a beautiful boyfriend. Aw! But it was a BLAST!

Kurt, Miss Ritchfield, and my sister's boyfriend!
It's so awesome to see people together and in love, no matter what their sexuality is. Being in Provincetown, experiencing everything and seeing same-sex couples so happy and free, just makes me feel GOOD!

We ended our last night each buying a Cape Cod sweatshirt (as if we were tourists or somethin) and eating a really yummy pink cupcake!

All in all, fabulous weekend! Because of the larger percentage of hot, steamy, sexy men, I barely had to do my hair or put makeup on! Score!

Hope you all had a fabulous 4th of July!

Would you judge me if I bought a fake engagement ring for fun?

I pulled a Lorelei and Rory Gilmore yesterday and went window shopping, making mental notes of things I wanted to buy. I was in TJ Maxx and came across these Paris Hilton (wtf) gems. What do we think of these shoes? I want to go somewhere so I can buy and wear them. Someone invite me somewhere fun okay?

Then I headed to Forever 21. I was looking at the jewlery and came across a diamond ring. It was $3.80. I put it on my finger and I heard angels. No actually I just heard skanky teenagers giggling trying on ugly hats next to me. But it looked KIIIIIINDA real...right?

And just to be clear...IM NOT engaged! Its $4 from F-21. And yes I need to paint my fingernails lol

So I almost bought it just because...except I had no cash and felt like a douche buying something for $4 on my debit card. Actually, I've done that before, but just felt super creepy for buying a faux engagement ring. But then again I might go back and buy it to fool people, and to flaunt it around the clubs and bars when all the men flock towards me. (kidding!)

This weekend the fam, Kurt, and my sister and her boyfriend are headed out on the boat for the 4th of July. So psyched! I have to stop by American Eagle though and see if they are offering their 5 dollar 4th of July t-shirts that I bought for Kurt and I last year.

I mean, isn't he such a good sport being sorta matchy matchy with his main squeeze?

I hope everyone has a fabulous 4th of July weekend! Can't wait to hear stories and see pics!
