Funny objects is my writer's block go-to!

I'm not feeling inspired today and am having a writer's block! I hate when that happens. I also hate that I am a journalist and have writers block..is something wrong here!?

I came across some of these photos yesterday and just HAD to share them with you guys. Basically this artist just added wires to inanimate objects and made them look SO cool and funny! Have a looksie..

How cool!! I want to make one now because I never come up with anything cool. Boo!

Yesterday I probably looked sketchy in Barnes and Noble. I have a Kindle. I love it but sometimes I miss the feel of a book! But I admit...Kindle book prices are WAY lower than real-life book prices. So yesterday I went into Barnes and scoured the store for good books I want to read, and then I'd sketchily write them into my iPhone and look around to see if anyone was looking. I did that for about 45 minutes and got like 8 books I want to download. Is this illegal of me!? Hah! I felt funny doing it. But I love my Kindle! Even though I ordered a book last month that I THOUGHT was a nice, romantic love story...turned out to be this wild sex novel. I read through it though because it DID have a story to it..a murder mystery! I'm not creepy, I swear.

I "like" a lot of different celebrities on Facebook. I know, I know...creep-tastic! The other day, Bethenny Frankel put on her Facebook that Skinny Girl Sangria was coming out in stores! I absolutely love Sangria..but sometimes it's just soo sweet and too sweet! Her recipe sounds SO GOOD. Here's your Thirsty Thursday cocktail!

  • 8 peaches, pitted and sliced
  • 4 white plums, pitted and sliced
  • 1 pound green grapes, cut in half
  • 3 bottles Prosecco (an Italian sparkling wine)
  • One 12-ounce can Fresca or diet lemon/lime soda
  • One 12-ounce can club soda
Combine everything and chill for an hour before serving!

This sounds SO delicious I want to make it like, right now!

Happy Thursday! If you live in the great state of Massachusetts like me, (or New England, for that matter!) we might be seeing 60 degrees this weekend. 60 FREAKIN DEGREES!! I need it. This 13 degree shit just isn't sitting well with me no mo! Mo money mo problems! (This has nothing to do with anything but as I was typing no mo, I suddenly felt like rapping Biggie Smalls'-mo money mo problems)

xoxox love you all!

I love my MOM even if we butt heads!

Happy Humpday!

I was perusing my normal blogs and came across this post from Leslie at A Blonde Ambition. I absolutely LOVE reading her blog! She is inspiring and puts up great pictures an posts. Anywho, today she did a post about loving her mama and it was just so adorable! I started thinking of my mom. Ohhh my mother..
Now by the looks of this photo, you may think we have a very loving, fun, happy relationship! We do now, but we DIDN'T! I was that bratty, bitchy teenage girl who didn't want to listen to anyyyone..let alone my psycho mom! Oh come on..we've all called our mom's psycho at one point!

During high school, my mom and I literally fought like cats and dogs. We'd have days of amazingness and shopping together, and days where we argued over and over again. My poor poor dad living in a house full of girls...he was damn smart to stay out of mostly everything! In college I had to write short stories about anything I wanted to..so I chose to write about funny stories about my mom and I. As these events were happening, they obviously weren't hilarious to either of us, but now, we legit DIE laughing talking about them.
I'll spare you with one story. My mom and I are so alike. So stubborn, always wanting to get our ways, etc etc. My friends constantly bring this up and laugh and laugh about them and have me repeat them to people who may or may not know the story.

I think it was 10th grade. I came home from school, had a snack and then felt like making Ramen. (holy crap I could go for Ramen RIGHT MEOW) I made Ramen and put the pan in the sink and not the dishwasher. I literally just didn't feel like bending down to put it into the dishwasher. My mom is a dishwasher freak. On the daily she'd be like:

"don't forget to put the dishes in the dishwasher when you're done"
"can you empty the dishwasher?"
"there's a glass in your room will you put it in the dishwasher?"
"I'm divorcing your father for the dishwasher." (joking obvi)

Needless to say, I just didn't feel like doing it. So I went into the family room and watched TV. My mom came home, said hi, etc etc. The fam sat down to eat dinner, I did my homework, then headed up to go to bed. I get into my room and I see the FREAKIN PAN on my pillow. ON.MY.PILLOW! My mom was still watching TV downstairs with my dad so I grabbed the pan, marched into her room, and put the pan on HER pillow. I was fuming. Like for real, mom, YOU put it in the dishwasher!
The next morning I wake up and go get ready for school while my mom is downstairs probably washing, petting, or kissing the dishwasher. I'm in the bathroom for maybe 15 minutes. During that 15 minutes, my mom must have snuck back into my room and put the effing pan back on my pillow. I screamed..legit screamed and started slamming doors and being a huge bitch and brought that pan right back and stuck it onto her pillow. Fuming, I went to school..came home...my mom was already home. I knew. I just knew that dirty Ramen pan was going to be back on my pillow and it was. That was it. I went into the bathroom, grabbed my dad's shaving cream, and drew a big face on the pan with the cream and stuck it on her pillow. She came upstairs and I looked at her and she just started DYING laughing which ultimately made me die laughing at the stupidity of this fight. We got over it, and now I tell the story or repeat it at least once to my friends or family.

But what would we do without our moms? I know I get angry and annoyed by her constantly texting me, or creeping me on facebook, or asking me and my boyfriend to come over to dinner EVERY NIGHT. I get it..she misses me and my sister in the house. I'd be sad too if a once full house full of kids and their friends is now empty. I live with my boyfriend, my sister is away at college..I get it. And it does sadden me, but I am happy that we have grown into something more than the Pan story.
did my mom have style or what....

I love my mama! and I always will! Luckily she enjoys doing things that I enjoy doing so we can do them together. Drinking martinis, trying new foods, going shopping, sharing clothes, all that jazz. I'm happy to have gotten out of my high school funk with fighting everyday but hey...I'm expecting that to happen when I have a bitchy kid of my own!

And one last story just for kicks? I made a delicious sandwich one day after school in 11th grade. I used a pickle...it just so happened to be the last pickle in the jar. Rather than throwing it out, I got lazy and put the empty jar in the fridge. The next day at school, I unloaded my backpack into my locker and what do I see? The empty pickle jar in my backpack stinking up the hallway. Yup..folks, that's my good ole motha for ya!
Do you love yo mama!?

High heel wearing preggo chicks

Last night, after Kurt let me to cut/butcher his hair (I did good I swear!!), I hunkered down in front of the TV and forced my poor man to watch one of my favorite ladies EVA!

Bethenny Frankel in Bethenny Ever After. Let me just say, I AM IN LOVE! I love this  new spin-off. She is such a character and I died laughing the entire time! She's such a hot mama and her daughter/hubby? ahh love!

BUT...I was a little disturbed by something during the show. One of the commercials for a new show coming to Bravo (like I neeeeeed another show to watch)..it's called Pregnant in Heels. Come again!? Whaaat! I wish I could find the trailer for you all but it's not online or annyyything.

It's basically about millionaire mothers who get help from this woman who owns a high end maternity shop. She teaches them about being "fab mothers." In one scene in the trailer, a woman is holding her baby in her bedroom and the maternity shop owner is like "do you care more about your shoes than your own baby?" and the damn mother says "right now, yes." Scuse me! Ah! what is our world? I can't wait to see the show though, unfortunately haha

I hope when I'm pregnant, I'll be able to fit my feet into Ugg slippers....let alone a pair of heels! Don't feet swell when you've got a bun in the oven?!
Wouldn't I be such a stylish mama if I had this Juicy Couture stroller? I literally want it for myself. I'd be so mad/jealous of my baby that he/she would get to be snuggled into that bundle full of warmth. I'd wanna sleep in that shit! I guess if I did purchase this $500 stroller one day, I'd have to pair it with a pair of sexy heels if I'm gonna strut my stuff with my fashionista kid.

I have baby fever. Not fever where I want to go get knocked up right this instant, but I see baby's and I'm like aww cuute awww I love his outfit. I think having a baby would be so much FUN..and so loving! There is nothing cuter than a baby's clothes and shoes.

Seriously how cute are these lil baby shoes? Don't even get me started on Suri Cruise and her wardrobe..especially her shoes. She dresses better than some celebrities! Redic.

Did anyone else watch Bethenny or see that ridiculous trailer for the preggo's in heels?!

xoxox Happy Tuesday
