Random-ness and drinky drinks

Behold..the most random post ever!

I love the new pink lamp I bought for my cube at target! Adds a little zing to it..though I'm still not done decorating the cube yet.

Green tea is SO addicting..plus, it's a great metabolism booster and helps loose weight. Check it out!

Last night at the gym, I did something TERRIBLE. I was on the treadmill and a woman came and went on the treadmill next to me. She must have cooked dinner consisting of garlic/spices/peppers/sauces because whatever it was, she smelled like it. And it's not the amazing smell that greets you when you walk into a house that's cooking up somethign delicious. No, this is the smell that's old..she WAS cooking..and now the remnants are stuck on her. I had to switch treadmills because the smell was so horrible. Is that bad of me!? I felt bad but really..I couldn't get in a good workout smelling garlic!

I'm obbsessed with Cocoa Roast Dark Chocolate Almonds..such a great snack to munch on throughout the day, especially at work.

Has anyone been on the website StumbleUpon? Pretty much it works like the title. You sign up and click a bunch of things you're interested in. (Celebrities, nature, boating, movies, sewing, cooking...list goes on forever) and then once you choose what you like, you hit 'stumble' and it'll bring you to a random webpage/article of your liking. It's SOO interesting..you've gotta try!

I need to make a Christmas List stat.

Tonight, my friends are coming over and we are going to cook a delicious dinner and just hang out..With work and other life things, it's hard to all see each other like we could in high school and college so it's nice to be able to do this. We will eat, drink wine, and laugh at stupid things!

I have a really delicious, low calorie martini that I really like! It's called the Watermelon Martini. Feast your eyes.

Ingredients
1 part Vodka
1 ½ parts Watermelon juice
1 Watermelon slice

Preparation
Add vodka and watermelon juice cocktail shaker and shake. Pour in a martini glass. Garnish with watermelon slice.

Yummy yummy and only 125 calories per glass!

That's all folks. Bit of a busy day so I'm makin it short and sweet!

xoxo muah!

I love where I live

I was reading an article last night about the healthiest state..which lead me to reading about the best state to live in, the best town, the fattest state, the ugliest state (just kidding..but I wouldn't be surprised if someone wrote an article about that!)

Yahoo never fails to draw me into interesting articles that either make me want to:

A) go on an outragous diets
B) re-evaluate my love life and friends
C) plan an exotic vacation

But I still continue to read my favorite homepage! It got me thinking though. I LOVE my state- Massachusetts. I love the town I live in. And I think everyone should love their town too. Massachusetts was rated the 2nd healthiest state, Vermont was rated the 1st. Mississippi was rated the most unhealthiest state. Why? Actually, who cares! If you love where you live, then so be it!

So I designate my post to the great state of Massachusetts. Oh, how I love you.

I love the way Boston gives me an excited feeling everytime I go there, even though I live 10 minutes from it.

 Boston Public Gardens

Took this pic on the 4th of July on the Charles River from our boat

The Prudential Center decorated for Christmas...love

I've had New York Pizza...I've had New Jersey pizza...but I really cannot compare it to the ORIGINAL Pizzeria Regina in the North End of Boston. Legit..best pizza ever. Perfect crust, delicious sauce, and endless supplies of oil/hot pepper/Parmesan cheese..plus, a bunch of toppings. Trust me..go there if you're ever in the city! And it must be healthy for you since we are the 2nd healthiest state! haha so eat up my friends

But Boston isn't the only thing that makes MA an amazing state. There's so much history, even if you aren't into history (like me). It's so interesting to learn about, and if you live in a state with a lot of history, why not learn about it?

Gloucester, MA. The Gloucester fisherman! If you've seen or read The Perfect Storm, welcome to where it all went down! Such a beautiful town North of Boston with so much to see. And there's also an eerie feeling knowing what happened!
I cannot forget the iconic Cape Cod. This beautiful sunset was taken in Falmouth last year! My family and I go down there a lot and this was so beautiful. Cape Cod is an amazing place to visit. The towns are quaint, the locals are friendly, and the lobster is to die for. Man, I love the Cape

This cute lil purple house is a picture I took in Martha's Vineyard. Love that island..I go there during the summer with the family for a week and each time it's different and more pretty than ever. Martha's Vineyard is notorious for their Gingerbread-esqu houses and this is one of them. Each are unique, which I absolutely love. Men/husbands..I love you for letting your wife decorate the house so cute and quaint..because most of them, if not all, are VERY girly!

So yeah, Massachusetts..rockin' state. Anyone ever been here? There are so many states I want to travel to..just to see. I come from a city so when I think of states like Minnesota, or Idaho, or Nebraska, I really want to visit them and see what's there. I feel lucky to have come from a city with so much to do, but at the same time, I'd love to experience a different state and experience the idea of "nothingness." Something about that really triggers me. I want to drive through Mississippi and see the vast plains that go on and on. I want to see North and South Dakota just because they're so far from me. I want to visit Nebraska and see the rural-ness.

I have a goal--to travel by car to or through every US state to see how other people live--to see their lifestyles--to experience the food that's probably amazing! I want to road trip it..make it a vacation..not looking back towards the city.
So there! =) Do you love your state? Where do you want to visit?

xoxo

Football and a delicious mess of a recipe

Last night I had the opportunity to go to THE BEST GAME EVER...New England Patriots vs the New York Jets. Monday night football..rival teams..Hell Yes. It was such an amazing game and my Pats played hard and won hard. Smoke-show! And my seats were absolutely amazing!

22 rows from the field. I could practically see Tom Brady's Uggs on the bench! My amazing aunt scored us these tix. Let me just say though...New England weather..brrr freakin brrrr. It was 19 degrees last night! and flurrying! We had to park about a mile from Gilette Stadium due to the mass crowds of people, and got to the game at about 7:30 for an 8:30 game. So my boyfriend and I are walking around the stadium with my aunt and her friend. I have on under armor, 2 fleece zip-ups AND a northface..with my uggs, with a hat, a scarf, and gloves. I was STILL freezing my buns off! So we get to a booth that's selling these amazing, fuzzy 50$ Pats blankets and my boyfriend, the sweetie that he is, bought me one so I could be bundled for the game! Love him. So with my fleecey fleece and handwarmers, I was set to watch the pats absolutely destroy the Jets and I loved every minute of it. 45-3 woop woop!

With a Monday Night Football game comes late hours..and we got home laaaate! I am not a morning girl..so needless to say, I was pretty damn tired! But it was so worth it and I'd do it again tonight! Oh..and Donald Trump was there as well as Tedy Bruschi! Donald Trump's hair KILLED me!! so funny..it was so windy, his weird hair was flapping in the wind haha

Have any of you guys been to a freezing cold game!?

Okay so I wanted to share a delicious mess with you all. One of my roommates in college told me how to make this and I hate her for it because its SOO good hat I want to make it every single day. I don't really have a name for it so I'll call it a Delicious Mess because that's what my roommate referred to it as! :)

Delicious Mess
Saltine Crackers
1 cup of sugar
1 stick of butter
sweet or semi sweet chocolate chips (you decide!)
m&ms (or another small bite size candy you like..or even nuts..or BOTH!)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees

Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil, and then line up
your saltine crackers in a tight row like this.
Then you're going to put the stick of butter and cup of sugar
into a pot and boil it until they are both mixed together evenly. Just stir a little as it's boiling!

After it's boiled, spread the mixture evenly over the saltine
crackers so they're covered. Put this into the oven and bake for about 8 minutes or until it starts to look golden brown. It will also start to look bubbly!

After you take it out of the oven, IMMEDIATLY start spreading chocolate chips over the top..you'll see them start to melt. This is good! Let them sit for a few minutes and they'll start getting even softer. Then once soft, spread it all over the saltines so that they are covered with the butter/sugar mix and the chocolate.
Finally, sprinkle the m&ms on top or whatever else you want to add to it!

Then comes the hard part. WAITING. These need to be put into the freezer for about 2 hours until you feel them and they are cold/hardened to look like a brittle. It'll look like this.
Then you want to just break it into pieces to serve and VOILA! So easy and soo delicious

How yummy does that look/sound! ENJOY!

toodles xoxo
