Ahh! Can it be Friday all over again? If you didn’t read my post last week, I told you guys I played hooky from work and took the train into NYC to see miss
Sabrina Says!!
We seriously had THE best time! We started off with some Starbucks to get the day rolling! I honestly need to learn to like coffee. Especially being in NYC where coffee is basically an accessory like a scarf or a bubble necklace.
From there, we headed to MOMA! I felt really cool saying MOMA. It actually stands for the Museum of Modern Art. I had told Sabrina they recently had an exhibit where you just watch people lay down or sleep. Apparently that’s “art.” I was hoping I would walk into an exhibit and see Aleksander Patrovksy and Carrie Bradshaw staring at that woman that doesn’t sleep or eat.
That is a small fan. SWINGING. That is a piece of art. WHAT!!
MOMA was literally unreal!!! Some of the stuff we looked at and wondered hmmm….what the F is this and how is it art? But really guys, if you go to NYC, go to this museum it is great! So many cool pieces including Van Gogh’s “starry night.”
After some swinging fans (sans Miley) we decided to be extra touristy and go to Serendipity for lunch where Sabrina was absolutely genius and decided we needed a slice of apple pie to start off with. Yes ma’am! I’ve tried to eat here in the past and was told it would be a 2 hour wait so I was praaaaying it wasn’t long. Luckily because it was a week day and at lunch, we got right in after 20 minutes!
We feasted on pie and delicious sandwiches. We were a little too full for the famous frozen hot chocolates but made up for it by feasting on candy at Dylans Candy Bar!
Sabrina later introduced me to my new best friend…Uber! We walked down to Time Square to check out the marvelous sights and then decided to high-tail it down to Soho. So we called an Uber! If you have Uber in your city…take advantage of it! It was so easy and Sabrina and I felt like we were NYC celebs being carted around in a sexy black car.
I got to meet Sabrina’s amazingly sweet friend Laura who works at Alex and Ani and has a blinged out wrist that I dream about---so many bangles. I need need need them all! Laura had recently moved to NYC and when she later told us how to get back to Penn Station, I basically told her she already sounded like a true New Yorker :-) Laura, if you are reading this, I was so so happy to meet you and when Sabrina visits again, hopefully I’ll be able to come again and stay longer than a day!!
We ended our time at a bar called Houston Hall in Soho. Let me be clear about this…Soho stands for South of Houston (Houston is a street name). But…little did I know…it’s not pronounced like the Texas city; it’s pronounced How-Ston. Who knew! The place was insanely cool. It was like an old barn in a way, with lots of different beers and cocktails to try. We sampled 4 different beers before deciding on Oktoberfest and Pumpkin!

About an hour into our drinks, the bartender pours us two shots of Jameson and said it was from 2 guys at the other end of the bar. We literally stared at eachother---Jameson?! Do we look like we drink Jameson! Haha so we took sips and then poured it into our beer sample glasses because the color resembled a beer---they never knew. We then retaliated and asked the bartender to send them back the most girliest drink he could concoct. They were pink and that’s all that mattered! :-D We ended up chatting to them and they were very nice...they even had the bartender make us pink shots as well so they didn't have to take them alone---hah!
I freaking love this girl. We had such a perfect day walking around the city, talking about everything under the sun, sightseeing, taking pictures and soaking up everything in the concrete jungle! If only I could have stayed for the night so we could have went HAM. I cannot wait for our next extravaganza which as always, is always in the works during one of our hang-outs! :-) Love you mucho Sabby Fresh!!
