Isn't everyone awkward?

I think one of the main reasons I rarely take any self photos of myself specifically for this blog is because I'm awkward as shit.

The other night, I was in my bedroom with the door shut tight trying to get the perfect angle for my post on my hair straightener review. Kurt was in the living room all "what are you doing in there?"

NOTHING! As I try different angles, different ways to hold the camera, different ways to make my boobs look bigger, different ways to make my face look like I didn't just crawl out from under a rock.

Sometimes though, I laugh at myself and try to loosen up while taking said "serious pictures." I won't lie when I tell you I must have taken that "straight hair after pic" about 15 times before I settled with it. Mainly because Teen Mom was starting. Thus results in these pics....

Never have I ever got bra-fitted or had wicked straight hair

Yesterday at work I was talking to someone about how I've never seen the movie The Godfather. It was as if I was telling someone I've never taken a shower. I think I heard, "ARE YOU A HUMAN BEING?" Apparently not...and apparently I need to get my butt parked in front of the TV for 9 hours to watch it!

Then I realized there are other things I've never done that you probably have...

Never have I ever gotten sized for a bra. I just guess, and 99% of the time I guess right except for that one time a bra felt like Lil Wayne was choking my ribcage with his dreads...yeah I had to return that one.

Never have I ever officially learned how to swim. Yeah I took swimming lessons, but I just can't. I end up swimming around like I have a face full of makeup and prom-hair...aka head and neck held high and out of the water. Oh then there was that time at Hilton Head where I drifted out into the open ocean not once but 4 times. Notha' story for another day!

I was contacted by Misikko asking if I'd like to review one of their products and a few weeks later, it was as if the hair Gods showed up. I am thoroughly excited to try this baby out in the 100+ degree temps and humidity in a week and a half when I'm trying to impress Mickey Mouse.

Water biting dogs and my weekend!

Happy Monday everyone!

Kurt and I spent a relaxing weekend down in the dirty Jersey! When Kurt and I first started dating, he invited me home with him one weekend to his family's house in New Jersey. Now before, I used to think of New Jersey as one big Newark; smoke stacks, lots of businesses, highways, and a short ride from New Yawk City. I was so wrong.

Kurt's originally from Northern New Jersey where the cows roam and the deer and the antelope play (home, home on the range anyone?). All true except for the antelope part. I don't know if those exist in that neck of the woods. Let me ask Kurt...

Kurt: Antelope???? Maybe at the safari at Six Flags. What kind of question is that?

Regardless! It's beautiful...and a nice change from the hustle and bustle of Boston :-)

Saturday I dragged Kurt to some really nice outlets out there and I snagged myself a couple of goodies! Then we spent the rest of the day in the pool, had some steak and ribs, and played Disney Trivial Pursuit with his fam.

Puppy! :-) 

Nothing better than being snuggled by dogs all weekend! Speaking of dogs....what's with dogs and biting water as if its food and they can eat it? Seriously adorable and hilarious!!

Makes for good photo ops to post on the door and scare away the bad guys!
