Halloween time means candy! But who is health conscious then?

One of my favorite times of the year is fall.  And that reason is Halloween!

I got out of college in May and spent my Halloween's dressed in the smallest outfits possible, celebrating Thursday, Friday, AND Saturday night, while people watching like crazy as Lady GaGa's and naughty nurses pranced around campus.

Okay so I'm out of college and working..I dont think I'll show up to work close to Halloween wearing a sexy firefighter costume!  Phooey..I'm getting old!  Now, celebrating Halloween will consist of handing out candy to cute kids, dreaming about college-life Halloween, and stuffing my face with all the deliciousness that comes with Halloween.

I went to Walmart last week and saw the Halloween candy right in front of me..I didn't purchase..I just looked!  I don't want to put on the "after college lazy girl 15."

Worst Halloween Candy! Thanks Yahoo.

I work out at least 4 times a week and try to eat healthy, with the slight indulgence once in a while..but this blew my mind.  Since when are Reese's bad for you..they have peanut butter..peanut butter is protein right?  okay okay I know it isn't healthy.  But why does Yahoo need to put articles out like this right around the holiday season!  During Thanksgiving, they tell you how many calories are in that scoop of mashed you just consumed.  During Christmas, they say not to eat too much honey ham.  And now Halloween...the one night where it's okay to eat candy!

Thanks Yahoo! I'll be eating my chocolate while sipping a Halloween-ish cocktail!

Do you indulge?  Or do you say "screw it" for the holidays?

First time's a charm

I've spent the last couple weeks or so reading blog after blog after blog.  I read blogs about mothers, blogs about fashion, blogs about technology and blogs about what people ate for breakfast while watching the news.

My blog experience is ZERO.  I have a Facebook and I have a Twitter..but are those even considered blogs?  Who knows.  Anyway, I am not sure what is going to come out of this blog, but since I have a strong passion for writing (especially creative, funny writing), I hope I can utilize this..and get lots of followers and subscribers :)

But as a recent college grad, I try to keep my life as fabulous as possible while I manage a new job, live with my boyfriend, deal with my parents, and learn about the "real world."

Okay well here goes nothing..so go on..say hi to me!

Apples and pumpkins and wine oh my!

Happy Columbus Day bloggies!

This past weekend I went apple picking at a winery in New York.  I must say, by the time apple picking was done, I was FULL!  I ate so many apples, but just bites of them!  You know, you pick an apple, take a bite to see if it's good, throw it on the ground, and pick some from that tree!

I was a little surprised though at one point.  There was a sign that said.."Don't steal the apples but better yet, don't teach your children to steal the apples!" Or something like that.  What's considered "stealing" the apples.  Was I stealing when I was taking bite after bite of each crunchy apple I got my hands on? Or did they mean putting the apples in your own bag?  Sheesh!

After picking some apples with my hunny, we went and grabbed some delicious wine at the winery.  We had to drive back home that night so I was anxious to get my hands on the wine when we got back.  As I was paying for the wine, the guy must have seen my excitement, as he proceeded to ask "Do you want me to open this now for you?"  No sir!! I have to drive 4 hours home.  Though I wouldn't have a problem drinking it, but I think the law would!

I picked a few cute baby pumpkins to put on my desk, and grabbed a larger one for my hunny and I to carve together :)

I had a splendid weekend but now it's back to the daily grind.  Hey, at least no one else is working today because my commute to work was a breeze.

How was your weekend?
