A love letter to myself

Something inspired me yesterday. I was having a bad day, but saw a retweet from someone to an article where people wrote love letters to themselves. Sounds weird, right? But it made me feel happy to read them! I decided to do one. Too many people focus on the negative things about themselves. Why can't we praise ourselves? Share what we love about ourselves?

My dear Erica Marie Weezy the First,

I can't tell you how much I love you. I love that you don't care that people look at you weirdly when you eat cereal with a spoon yet no milk. I love your ability to play the Harry Potter theme song on your flute after all these years and the way you brush your teeth while dancing and hip thrusting.

I love watching you make people smile. Sure sometimes people get annoyed with your "happy go lucky attitude" about things in life and sometimes want you to be more serious about stuff, but I think it's pretty flipping awesome to see you put a smile on someones face.

I love how you sing and use shampoo bottles in the showers as microphones while making sexy faces in the shower mirror. That's confidence right there! Who cares if people can hear you...actually it's better they hear you rather than see you.

Watching you connect with all types of people is inspiring. I've seen you connect with the guy working at the grill at your office cafeteria. Remember when you guys talked about how you can't live without caramelized onions and he now always remembers to give them to you? Or the lady at the gym who you taught how to do a plank properly? Yeah sure you aren't a professional fitness guru but she felt the burn in her abs and now you two always say hi to each other at the gym!

I even love that you have temper tantrums. Shocking, right? But it shows your passion in life! You want to show what you believe in and how you feel rather than let it eat away at you. Let's just agree not to fully elaborate on that temper tantrum in Target.

It's important to love yourself Erica, so try and love yourself more often. It ain't gonna hurt no one! Oh and while I'm at it, I love your ability to look on the bright side. You turned a bad day upside down, and sometimes that's hard to do!

Keep on keeping girlfriend!

What do you love about yourself?!

Baby Bump and Bumpin the Booty

Last night I did something really weird.

You know how if you drink a lot of water  your stomach sticks out a little extra from water weight? I was examining this phenomenon in the mirror and if I arched my back and stomach just right, it looked like I had a mini baby bump....I'd say 8 weeks?

Then I took a mirror selfie because it just looked so real. I even did the whole "hold the stomach so tenderly" look. Then I showed Kurt and told him I was pregnant and all he said was "you're weird."

(this is NOT ME!!)
Come on, Kurt! Not the reaction I was hoping for!
Clearly he knew I was kidding
And clearly we can all agree I have issues
I can't show you the real pic because that might cause rumors!!

When I envision myself pregnant, two things come to mind. 1) I am going to swell up like a balloon I just know it and 2) I am going to be a ravenous beast. And by ravenous beast I mean my hair is going to always look wild, I'm going to be constantly wearing giant comfy clothes and I'm going to be so moody and cranky. I can just feel it!

Speaking of feeling, I have been seriously feeling this jam lately. I think it has something to do with this amazingly gangster 15 second video from Kevin Hart on Instagram. Do y'all follow the comedian Kevin Hart on instagram? He posts the funniest stuff!

The most awkward exercises in all the land

Have you ever gone to the gym so excited to try new workouts, only to find out you really should have done these in the privacy of your own home because well, they are awkward as hell?

Lately I've been really into finding new workouts rather than the usual old crunches, lunges and planks. I've found a handful of workouts that I want to do every hour of every day because I just know they are extremely effective---except some of them make me look like I'm prepping for a wild night of sexytime or a wild night of being repulsive.

First up, we have the booty lifter
I've done this the past few weeks at the gym
And lately notice people staring.
Yes lady, I know it looks like I'm ready to ride but feel my butt in a few weeks!

Fire Hydrant Kicks
If you want your ass to burn, do this!
If you want to look like you're a dog pissing on a fire hydrant, do this!

Thigh Scissors
Am I doing kegals?
Am I about to induce my own labor?
Or am I working out my inner thighs?

Plank Jacks!
Y'all...these hurt so good
But if you saw someone in the gym doing these wouldn't you side eye them?!
Yeah also, don't do these with low cut tops---jiggle say what?! (guilty)

I now know to save these workouts for when I'm at home

Also, I'm not big into squatting at the gym
I do squats every single day at home, but in the gym it looks like you're taking a public poop!
Oh well, as long as my booty looks like this I'm content :-D

What are some awkward workouts you've done?!
